On all this Deuce back and forth... It's been speculated that Auburn is willing to pay him starter money to stick around as a backup this year, and be the presumptive starter next year. Let's say that's true and he ultimately decides to take that deal. Would that be a 2 year deal? Otherwise, what's stopping him from cashing checks being an overpaid backup this year and just entering the portal next year? How would this work with him? If he could just bail the next cycle, what's the incentive to overpay now?

If Golesh can bring home some line players and somehow bring Deuce back, he is the AU Czar!
I really think we are playing for next year. I know that is hard to believe, but the more I look at Byrum Brown the more I think he is the guy that can get us in the thick of it and can win games when we need him too.
I've had lots of Kool-Aid tonight, but ain't it fun?!

Hell yeah, that is the kind of guy we should be looking to bring in. Forget where he played, he has the measurables and has performed on the field. Get his arse in here.

Maybe that is the hang up. Maybe we want to lock him down for multiple years and he/his agent are hesitant.

Just my personal opinion, and i could be very wrong, but i think the Deuce ship has sailed. it was reported not long ago that we're looking at Oregon State QB Tristan Tia, most likely for the backup spot.

Yep, and Washington has said that they plan on using every legal avenue to make him honor his contract.
This could get ugly for Kiffin. I mean surely he wasn't planning on signing both Leavitt & the Washington QB. that isn't going to work at all. now Leavitt is probably like WTF? he can't trust Kiffin and signs somewhere else and then Washington forces the QB to stay there and Kiffin misses on both.

Kiffin is, and always has been, a snake in the grass. Long term I am glad we didn't hire him. As soon as one of the LA NFL jobs open up, he's gone.
