Well you can only recruit so many kids and keep a real shot at them. Portal vs HS is really an either or. You go mostly one way and you might have a shot at a few big players from the other. Plus Freeze already said he was focusing on HS kids.

I don't think Salter is great, but I will take any added competition to the room. Can't be much worse than it looked the past 2 years anyway lol.
I don't get the "Freeze can't recruit the portal" stuff. We had one of the top transfer classes this year. They chose to prioritize high school players this year to lay a foundation. There are plenty of players still left in the portal, a few more will be jumping in over the next few days, and there's another portal window in a couple of months. We already knew we would be dipping in for OL and DL. Not sure why people are shocked by that now.

We did very good with portal OL and DL last year. I don't see any reason to doubt that we can find a couple of guys again this year. Long way to go with transfer recruiting.

I was all aboard the Freeze train but this portal period has been absolutely brutal for Auburn. Hugh makes excuses for everything like he can’t multitask and won’t make a decision to get a QB here.
