Jackson Arnold was a 5 star too.

Arnold was a 5 star+ recruit at that.

Right now it looks like nobody knows what is going on on the offensive side of the football.

5* QB play sucks= QB coach
Talented and heralded OL play sucks= OL coach
Offensive gameplan and play calls suck= OC coordinator
Offensive coaches suck= Head coach

All the problems start at the top.

I think we should give Jackson Arnold the full Georgia game then give Daniels a shot(if he does poorly). NO I don't think he's elite or the key to our problems, but if you can't see the field and you're missing wide open touchdowns, maybe the bench will help you.

no.

I love Deuce, but he cannot be as effective as he could be behind a better OL .... and our OL is way below average by almost every measure.

Can you imagine how amped up and nervous Deuce was his first action? You gotta let him get this out of his system and just go for it. Jackson can’t do it.

Ok, well Jackson Arnold went 11 for 11 for 114 yards and 1 passing TD, and had 5 carries for 39 yards 1 rushing TD in his first ever game action as a true freshman against Arkansas State. So its a bit wild that we are confirming that Arnold "can't do it", but that Deuce's horrible showing doesn't really matter because he'll obviously just "get it out of his system" and start winning games. Jackson Arnold as a true freshman started out MUCH better than Deuce Knight did, and he hasn't been able to get bad play out of his system.

The reason why its stupid start Deuce Knight is because it is blatantly obvious that this offense has massive problems from top to bottom. From game planning, to coaching, to play calling, and to execution by the players. Throwing in a raw true freshman QB and expecting him to "figure it out" is asinine, because the system itself is NOT functional right now. This is NOT an "everything is great, just replace the QB" problem on offense.

Deuce struggle taking snaps and handing the ball off vs Ball St. I don't think he's the answer this season

Yeah, maybe first game jitters.. but Deuce looked completely lost out there. Didn't he almost throw 2 pick six's in his first drive?

Yeah, but he got away with it. But it is to be expected that Deuce would need time to adjust to the speed of the game …. and I suspect that is why he was playing. Unfortunately there have been few opportunities since then for him to get additional game reps.

Believe he fumbled the snap or the handoff as well once or twice.

I'd probably go with the guy from Stanford if we can't score on UGA.

With our defense we just need a game manager

I just watched a Clemson WR or RB throw a better deep ball than any AU QB can, on the first play of the NC game

Sure the offense is broken top to bottom. But nothing will get better if JA still can’t turn the ball loose. And if he can’t do that, Hugh is going to end up getting fired anyway, Deuce may or may not transfer after that. So I would at least want to chance it , instead of sticking with what we know doesn’t work.

Solid point. I'm just wondering why we would skip the more experienced back up?

Because the more experienced backup put up worse numbers than Ashford and Thorne.

Well I’ve seen several people that have seen deuce over the years say he is one of the most talented players they’ve ever seen. So let’s see it

Sure the the offense stinks. But there is this glaring issue on top. We probably win the OK game if Arnold can just let the ball go a few more times. If this is fixable, then Arnold is clearly the best option.. It it's not fixable, then we are not going to win another meaningful game, and they should be using the off week to get the next man up ready.

I think Arnold is probably broken, but would love to be wrong.

Face-saving exit would be for Arnold to have a "hamstring or shoulder problem" at practice and be unable to play.
