Malzahn got coached up before his press conference. Sexton must've told him his last few press conferences were low energy. He practiced and purposed to look different for these few minutes.

I don't think any coach should be given the type of contract Auburn gave Gus.

I was just pointing out how happy everyone is when you're winning, and how everyone hates when they're losing.

I think Gus has sucked as a head coach and his incompetence gets covered up by ouystanding play by 1 or 2 players on his offense. His oline recruiting has been shite, which I pointed out on here 2 years ago. He can't design a passing offense. Our receivers only know how to run simple routes.

Cam, Nick, and Tre earned Gus that stupid arse contract.

He's had two good years of offense. Those players I listed were part of those offenses.

I really dont care enough to continue this conversation.

But.. those players had nothing to do with his big contract.

Didn't Gus get his contract in 2015? I think his history of getting Auburn into the National Title game in the previous years had a lot to do with that contract.

I think the players I listed carried Gus to those title games. Sure there are players that carry a team. Good coaches recruit those players and form a concept around them. Gus was only able to do that with Cam and Nick.

So yeah, I think Auburn being in the title games in 2010 and 2013 had a lot to do with Gus getting the contract. 2010 is the reason we hired Gus in the first place as HC.

He received his albatross of an extension in 2017 following our SEC championship loss to UGA. We were being held hostage by Jimmy Sexton because Arkansas was interested in Gus. A job that Gus probably would have not actually taken...

All of you don't remember giving Gus 50 MM in 2017 for a 10-4 season?

You constantly act like that is Gus' fault.

You have this hatred for somebody you have probably never met. He never brought Auburn into any controversy. He just has faults that hurt his coaching ability. That is no reason to constantly bash the man every opportunity you get.

I’ve moved on. I don’t let the past I have little control over haunt me so much. Being that bitter just isn’t very appealing to me. Enjoy being miserable I guess.

I wish Gus nothing but the best. Brought us the most memorable football moments AU will likely ever have in 2013. He’s a good man and runs a clean program. If he can get out of his own way, I really think the UCF job could work out very well for all involved. That’s a big if, though.

Wow I just heard something in his presser that is pretty interesting. The AD said "Gus told me he hasn't interviewed for a job since high school."

I think JJ pulled the wool over our eyes in 2012 with the "search committee." Such a sham. Typical GOB network stuff. I truly believe Greene wasn't having none of that and did a real search.

That said, I wish Gus all the best. He seems to be a good guy and players respect him.

He’s a Les Miles that got paid a ton more. He doesn’t care about your well wishes. Auburn paid a ton of money for Gus, and now he’s out of the pressure cooker, and rich. He got paid in 2017 and really never coached again.

Nawh, I want to see him fall flat on his face.

Finally be forced into his next successful new age game plan. And then succeeding at his next stop. Fuc.. UCF no matter how you spell or arrange it.

Leath, Jay Jacobs, and any board member that helped push the 2017 extension through should have their houses TP'ed.

How do you make the highest, most unnecessary buyout ever even worse???? Agree to pay it in full regardless of any future job.
That definitely wasn't the "market rate"
That was just flat out stupid.

But but but I was told that nothing idiotic was going on behind the scenes at Auburn and that was just conspiracy theory stuff! Bo Jackson was on the search committee! He wouldn't lie! He was out there interviewing coaches from coast to coast to land Auburn the best and greatest!

Newsflash: Jay Jacobs was a puppet AD who was put in place to sign-off on decisions handed to him. Gus Malzahn was ushered in with little due process for entertaining a real coaching search based off of 2010. Still think the Kevin Steele stuff was fabricated out of nowhere?
