If this is my son, arguably the #1 QB in the Nation coming out of HS....I bench him with a fake injury for the rest of the year and transfer out ASAP.
Nix has a good enough name and connections he could play out 2 years at a lessor school and still go pro.

I know Gus’s play calling can be infuriating, but Nix missed a few wide open receivers yesterday. You can’t put it all on Gus

Gus can’t make Nix hit receivers. He was even missing guys that were covered.. would’ve thrown a couple INTs yesterday if his accuracy was better

Gus broke him
A business decision needs to be made for the kids future

Yeah, a few of his throws I was thinking wtf when he released it. Only to be relieved that he didnt throw it where it was intended because it would certainly have been intercepted.

Yes the 2 throws in question where opposite side of the field out routes that Aaron Rodgers would have trouble timing and getting there before the defends broke.
NFL throws like that for a TF qb on the road is not smart

There were more than just 2 throws

Did we throw it over the middle at all? Our passing attack is just absurdly goofy.

I feel like Nix would light it up at USC...especially under Pete Carroll

Yes. One would’ve been a 95 yard touchdown to Schwartz that he threw 3 yards behind him. Another to Sal that would’ve been a 1st down. It was behind him also. One was to Seth. He had to jump for it and didn’t come down with it.

Nobody was harder on Stidham than me, but at some point when you watch physically talented players like Stidham and Bo struggle the way they do it has to be connected to preparation and in game coaching management to "some" degree.

The one to Schwartz wasn’t in the middle, but we definitely threw some over the middle. The quick game stuff was the one thing Bo has been fairly accurate at. If he’s missing that stuff then there is no reason to keep him in there.

AMEN!
Bo is just the product of the system and coaching that he is receiving now. I really like the kid and he definitely has the talent, but we've all seen this crap before. Hell, Gus almost ruined Stidham!
Point of fact, how many times this year have we had a delay of game penalty coming out of a timeout?
Changing the play at the line, in a hostile environment, that nets us negative yards? I have to assume that a pass play was called, coaches didn't like the defense, change it to a run up the middle for a 1-2 yard loss.

I'm not defending Gus but Nix cant even throw a short pass on target at this point. It's not talent. We've seen what he did in high school. He's just not mature enough to handle these high pressure games on a big stage.

Gus is in over his at the collegiate level.
And that has and continues to reflect on the offense especially the QB position.

Hand claps for the snap, on the road in a hostile environment, near the goal line.
How many times are we going to see illegal procedure by our lineman before the "offensive genius" changes this stupidity.
I guess they are telling the linemen this week, "Y'all have to hear better, Dammit!"

Reality is Gus is an above average coach in the hardest division in CFB. He's not in over his head at Auburn, much less the college level.
Now, that doesn't mean I think he should remain our HC for much longer - He probably shouldn't. But he'd be a fine coach elsewhere and I suspect he'll easily get another P5 gig unless he has a Chizik-like burnout (which isn't likely).

Congrats for the dumbest post on this board in quite some time...

If Malzahn is ever terminated, he will be forced to reevaluate and confront his deficiencies.
