So in June Marsh is OVing Penn State, then us, then MSU last and a couple of weeks later he announces.

Sounds like he is an MSU lean already, but who knows.

How did we get in on a receiver from Michigan?

6 foot 3 and a beast after the catch, and all his balls were 50/50 since his QB could not hit him in stride the entire highlight film.

4* WR Nick Marsh

His quote from on3:

quote:

“Penn State the 2nd through the 4th, then Auburn the 16th through the 18th, Michigan State the 23rd through the 25th, then Kansas we haven’t set up yet. Probably one more, but after that that’s probably it.”

On why Auburn? He said his connection with Davis and sounds like he’s really impressed with the facilities.

Thought it was interesting that he said his biggest con for Auburn was not meeting Freeze. Said that will be his biggest thing on the OV.

Seems like a very no-nonsense kind of guy.

I think Stidham is a great overall comparison to Thorne.

Has an arm. Has some pocket presence. Gets some of those happy feet when he sees a guy open. Almost like a nervous tic

Also, saw the back of Joiner’s jersey in one of the replays. Forgot all about that guy

If the O-line is better than last years and we can run the ball Thorne definitely fits. Just like 17 with Stidham. Kerryon had a massive season and got ran into the dirt. As I've seen posted earlier, having someone consistently make the easy throws will be quite different from what we have had recently.

Not overthrowing the check down by 5 feet will be a huge upgrade alone

Don't know if this is true, but I heard Thorne was graduating this Sat. If so, we probably won't hear anything until after that.

Our defense won’t be close to 17 so that tempers expectations, but look at what Thorne did at MSU with a great running attack in 21 - could be more than solid

FWIW Thorne has added about 10 Auburn football players to his Instagram following.

Would also like to have Reed #1 & "Speedy" #8 come along also...talk about Frisbee catching... Those additions might be worth a couple of more wins...

Jonsey,

Thanks for the insight on Marsh, maybe we have a better chance than I thought. I do agree seems no nonsense. Ive spoken with the schools, take my OYs, take a week or two to think about it and announce. Wish they all did it this way.

Man oh man, we are seriously in the hunt for what could be one of the best wide receiver recruiting classes ever for us.

This kid is everything you want, size, yards after catch, and he wins every contested pass, which seems to be everyone on his highlight reel cause his QB cant hit him in stride. If you watch hudl, just watch the first play, this kid dodges half the friggin defense after his catch.

He went 30/42 for 323 yards and 3 TD’s against Washington last year on the road.

Definitely struggled against tOSU the 2 times he played though but still had more TD’s than INT’s.

We thought our WR situation was bad.

quote:

Iowa was down to four scholarship wide receivers this spring and were facing injuries with Nico Ragaini, Jacob Bostick, and Seth Anderson. Diante Vines was the only healthy scholarship wide receiver towards the end of spring.
