Washington, most of the time doesnt even try to run the ball.

That OL is in the National championship

That OL is voted Best in Football by people that matter

Nobody cares to see you fearmonger how bad "Thorne could be" if he fell up those stairs. You doubling down on this point after being pointed out that Washington's OL is the cream of the crop just makes it all idiotic. Stop.

You had no problem screaming last year when Ashford got sacked 23 times in 9 starts. Keep that energy.. Dont be telling me that Penix which only got sacked 5 times last year has it bad because Penix isnt that slipppery.

Washington showing why their offensive line earned the Joe Moore Award this season. OC Ryan Grubb's OL background is showing in his protection against a pair of the most ferocious lineman in the game.

I doubt that just more chum to get the market prices higher. Kj needs to play some ball before he crowns himself the next Dion.

The Oline was way better in 2023 than in 2022.

So 2 5* freshman WRs will make us significantly better? Will they be playing OL, then take turns throwing to each other? Give me 2 reasons to think next season will be any different.

Will 2 true freshman OL improve our line play next year? Will our RB room be better minus Hunter and any new additions? What makes you think any QB will have time to throw accurate passes to all these new WRs? I've had 100% faith in Freeze. But NMSU, 4th and 31, and the bowl game raise legitimate concerns don't they?

Yes, it's very possible that freshman receivers or ANY receivers can improve this team right now. Cam Coleman is a rare talent, but there will be growing pains. Did a true freshman center in Conner Lew help us last season? I think he was freshman all SEC right? I see no reason why Jeremiah Cobb and a healthy Damari won't be better. Did Alston not show great promise in the iron bowl? Beyond the Texas A&M game where our QB was admittedly a dear in the headlights, our offensive line showed improvement from 2022 right? If we continue to stack talent and get better why can't their be more of an upward trend? Acting like the sky is falling doesn't help at all.

If they catch the ball when it hits them in the hands and just get 75% of the jump balls that are catchable, then yes, they will improve us dramatically. I'm not sure I have ever seen a football team drop as many passes as we did this year, like glaringly catchable balls.

Now we got absolutely roasted in the NMSU and Maryland games and no amount of 5 star receivers would fix that. Those games were motivation issues that need to be sorted and I don't know how that happens. That will take leadership at the top and leadership in the locker room for sure.

Hunter was off most of the year this year. We need running backs that can, and will, pick up blitzes. Most of our OLine issues come from blitz packages that don't get picked up for what I remember.

But to answer your questions, yeah, I think another year in a new system will make most of the guys returning better players and a better team. At least, this is what you hope for. If we have the same issues next year as we did this, then we need to look in the offices rather than on the field.

might remember what his route is.

That's all I'm saying, if next year looks like this year it will be trouble. Freeze has alot of IFs heading into next season for us to be better. I don't know that a new QB solves every problem, but I want a competent passing attack for the 1st time in years

Auburn gave up 32 sacks in 12 games last year.

Auburn gave up 34 sacks this in 13 games this year.
We were also 88th in TFL allwed, a slight improvement from 105th last year, but the defenses didnt get to pin their ears back as much with Payton Thorne presenting little more of a threat to pass the ball.

If we were way better. Prove it.

1. You gotta take the L on this one jville.

2. There's no way Washington's OL was better than UGA's.

Too bad we can't start a thread just for the drama queens and leave this for recruiting only. I'll avoid the drama queen threads like the plague. It doesn't matter how boring the recruiting thread becomes but you won't have to wade through 100s of useless pages of fricking idiots arguing over absolute nothing to do with recruiting.

I dont knw why it is happening dude, but you are not exactly helping me either.

this year Washington is 4th in sacks allowed
and 5th in for tackles for loss in all of football.

But Jville is acting like Thorne should be grateful to have our OL which ranked 101st in sacks allowed.

Yall need to police this board and call out the bullshite and stop leaving it all to me if you are going to cmplain about it because I will not let it go.

Gump game yesterday showed that you can stack as many 5* classes as you want but you can still lose when it matters because of a fricking scholarship center not being able to snap the ball right or a damn good coach on the other side. At times yesterday I felt like Saban was going against an NFL coach and team. Harbaugh is probably gone after this season. So we are not just one magical QB away from winning a NC but it would just be a step toward it. We have a long way as a roster to go to be competitive with top 5-10 teams. All that said still need a damn good QB or we will be toast, and Thorne is not that.

After three days of Under Armour practice Cam Coleman has been the best receiver According to most experts in attendance.

Most of the offensive line improvements where with running the football. Pass protection still struggled, but that's a system/QB comfort thing. Payton Thorne took a lot of unnecessary sacks making the Oline numbers worse than they actually are, BUT we still have some serious improvement that needs to take place in that area. All of you have made solid points with the exception of the Doom and gloom give up and admit defeat bunch.
