Do you comprehend that Penix covers a lot of their flaws? 97th rushing offense, Penix one of the most pressured QBs in the country, but he gets rid of the ball and doesn’t take sacks.

Jville, I am sorry dude, but when a 9 person committee including cole cubelic and others that know the craft votes you number one, you're number one.

Dont know where you are headed with this anyway. Just watch a ballgame.

Sorry if facts don’t fit your narrative.

THE FACTS ARE WASHINGTON WAS VOTED THE GREATEST OL IN CFB

Holy frick. I need crazy pills stat

Their pass protection impressed me. Only a handful of sacks or pressures, and their ability to keep their shoulders square and remain on the same level and pass off stunts and games impressed me. They all seem to be pretty good at resetting their hands and can put the brakes vs bull rushes and power. Admittedly, they weren’t perfect this year and had a couple games late where the entire offense seemed to be a bit off, but Washington's offense quietly relies on - and is sustained by - their offensive line.”

“While they don’t run the ball as often as other teams, when they do run it, they more than get the job done, like in the Pac-12 Championship Game. They took over and successfully ran it on a very good Oregon front when it mattered. That “Gotta Have It” situation was the moment they won me over.”

“Pass pro is certainly not passive with this group. Reminds me a bit of the 2019 LSU winning unit. 71(LG Nate Kalepo) looks like the alpha, but none of them overlook an opportunity to set the tone. They are physical all around. Nasty, nasty group that’s really fun to watch.”

“It’s not just what they do, it's how they do it. They try to punish and demoralize when they play. I realize a lot of people are going to excuse it with their quick throw game, but when they needed Dylan Johnson to be the hammer, they hammered it down.”

“The strain and the attitude stand out. Not to take anything from any other units, but Washington had their ‘Moore Moment’ when they stepped up with everything on the line in the last ever Pac-12 championship. They knew what was at stake, and they stepped up and delivered. That’s what this award is all about.”

“They are enforcers. Not watchers. They’ll be tested mightily against a stout and athletic Texas front, but they’ll be up for that challenge and won’t back down from anyone for any reason, I promise you that. That’ll be a fair fight and the key matchup to that contest if you ask me.”

I'd take their OL. Just sayin

Our offense felt like we were living off broken plays or the QB tuck and run. Nothing worked by design

Would you take their oline with our current QB situation? And for reference: according to the announcers in the PAC12 championship, Penix has been one of the most pressured QBs in the country this season. Washington 97 rushing offense, Auburn 24th. My point was, Washington is an 8 win team at best with an average QB.

I have a feeling we are going to have a fight on our hands to keep Cam and Perry out of the portal after Thorne gets them 2 catches a game and we stumble down the stretch again. I hope I'm wrong, but see little change at OL and saw little reason to believe PT is a viable option to throw. That bowl game "performance" has made me start to question whether Freeze has a firm grasp of what he is doing. Starting to feel an awful lot like Gus, and I was really hoping that wouldn't be the case.

It’s like you don’t have eyes. Dude has had someone in his face all night. Oh, and they have 28 rushes for 97 yards tonight. Yeah, sign me up for that oline.

Apparently you know better than these people. Apparently these people that know what they are doing were just fooled, and Washington really sucks, so Thorne would be much worst if he had to play there!

The 2023 voting committee includes
Chairman Cole Cubelic (Auburn, SEC Network)
Charles Arbuckle (UCLA, Indianapolis Colts);
Randy Cross (UCLA, San Francisco 49ers);
Mike Golic, Jr. (Notre Dame, ESPN);
Duke Manyweather (Humboldt State, player and coach, founder of OL Masterminds);
Geoff Schwartz (Oregon, Carolina Panthers);
Phil Steele (publisher of Phil Steele’s College Football Preview, ESPN);
Aaron Taylor (Notre Dame, Green Bay Packers); and
Lance Zierlein (NFL draft analyst, NFL.com).

Texas has like 3 first rounders on their D line dude. Just because they're being pressured from Texas doesn't mean they aren't good. Revis got burned several times by Moss but he's still All pro.

best on best

Texas DL fricked Bama up.

Their DL has three studs

quote:

Considering T’Vondre Sweat was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and the Outland Trophy winner along with Byron Murphy securing the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year

The Huskies lead the nation in passing yards per game at 343.8, riding the arm of Heisman Trophy runner-up Michael Penix Jr. Yet they also are tied for fourth nationally in fewest sacks allowed with just 11 total, or one sack for every 44 pass attempts. Only Oregon has a better ratio nationally than that. Part of Washington’s low sack total is attributable to Penix’s quick delivery of the ball to his receivers, but it should be noted that he’s not much of a scrambler, which increases the importance of keeping him protected in the pocket. The Huskies’ O-line has done that.
On the other side is the manifestation of Texas coach Steve Sarkisian’s three-year mandate to become bigger, stronger and tougher in the trenches. Sweat, an All American, is 362 pounds of interior impediment, with fellow 300-pounders Byron Murphy and Alfred Collins providing additional mass. They’re big reasons why the Longhorns rank third nationally in fewest rushing yards allowed per game at 80.85—a number that declined to 53.86 in the seven games since Texas’s loss to Oklahoma.

I hope you’re wrong. He actually has backing from everyone in the program. That hasn’t been the case in forever.

You’re about the most ignorant motherfricker I’ve ever seen.

Washington’s OL is tops in the nation. Penix has over 3 seconds per play to get rid of the ball. One play they isolated tonight he had 3.54 seconds from snap to release. That’s forever. Even when he leaks out of the pocket no one is even close to him

There was a play in the Music City Bowl where PT held the ball for 5 seconds before dumping it off to Burton. Go look.

And Auburn’s oline >>> Washington’s running the ball. I’m not trashing them. I’m just pointing out all the sky screamers on here putting all the blame on the Oline might need to think about how better QB play makes your Oline look a whole lot better sometimes.
