When the DJ Fluker checks were circulating around the internet and the fact the money was being funneled through a bank in Chatom and it was well know and the NCAA didn’t do crap about it I knew then Saban was untouchable. He has to have something on someone in the NCAA or handed out reach arounds to them faster than he was handing out Dodge Chargers to recruits.

During the dead period coaches and players cannot have in-person contact. Only texting, emails, etc. are allowed.

And I’m willing to bet your best friends a Gump and the Asst coach in question is Gump.

RW may (and probably will) sign with Bama, but he didn’t sign in December just to sign on his birthday. He did it to take visits and it just so happens his birthday is close to the late signing day. On the visits anything can happen

I don’t think in person contact is allowed during the dead period but I could be wrong.

During the dead period, coaches may not have any in-person contact with recruits and/or their parents. In other words, coaches are not allowed to talk to recruits at their college campus, the athlete’s school, an athletic camp or even the grocery store.

Only when they sign to attend the school does that rule not apply.

I heard Michael Tarquin's name come up on the JLee show. He is a grad transfer I believe, only has a year left. Played for Florida, hit the portal for a year at USC, now back in the portal and Florida has offered (strange world), and Kentucky. He started 8 games at rt tackle for SC last fall.

Any thoughts on this guy?

I don't know much about him. but as you have stated looks like UF & UK are interested. I am sure that if our guys liked him they would offer but he was a 4* with NIL probably around 300k. Interesting how much these kids are getting for NIL.

Chatom and Foley, Mobile and Baldwin County is Angus Cooper territory.

The mother of Julio Jones suddenly becomes an employee of Barber’s dairy.

TJ Yeldon’s family was paid off by the same, out of Filex’s Fish Camp on the Causeway, owned by Cooper. How is someone on the payroll that doesn’t even work?

The list goes on and on

I lived through TTown Menswear....

The football memorabilia store in the mall that openly paid current athletes and always had signed stuff from kids the moment they were with Alabama

They are the sacred cow and will never be touched

I really hate it we missed on Carmona and the Scircy fella out of Toledo, sounds like Freeze thought so too. Wanted to have a face to face and others offering before a visit so we lost them. Would have been perfect for what we need.

Now to your point we are going to end up spending a lot more and not even sure we get what we need.

There will be more in the spring, but they will miss a lot of practice together with the rest of the line.

I remember back in Tikal's heyday, heck no one could compete with the money they were paying, neighboring teams from places like Caracol didnt stand a chance.

Look, I hate those frickers as much as anybody. Maybe other than Squatch but you have to respect the game even if you dont like them. Whatever they did, they did it well enough not to get in trouble for it

This was my eclectic try at early morning humor. Its referencing ball games of the ancient Mayans....paying players.....ancient history....as in time to move on from those days.

We all played the game, to Lanier's point some were just better than others. Some arsonists leaped from the building untarnished (Pete Carroll), and some got caught.

Now is the NIL era and the field is leveled and we have one of the best preachers in the land, times of milk and honey.

Yup. We just need the fanbase to buy in and get onboard with OTV.
