He was a self-entitled douche bag. Never recruited, made enemies in the building/AD and now he sits on his computer blocking Aubies on twitter for rightfully trashing him

a pussy in every sense

You dumb frick Gus brought us to two SEC championship games and recruited decent. Yeah he sucked on the road but Harsin sucked at home and on the road.

He can thank Gene Chizik’s recruiting for his first SEC title. That roster was loaded with elite skill players and offensive lineman.

He got the shite beat out of him in the second SEC championship appearance by UGA.

The program was in shambles when Gus left, specifically the trainwreck on the offensive line.

Harsin was a bad recruiter but he wasn’t exactly set up to succeed his first two years at Auburn with the leftovers from the Gus era.

You mean he should thank the same coach that won 3 games the prior year with same “elite” players?

Who gives a flying frick. Harsin got punted at home by Penn State.

It wasn’t near the shambles that Harsin left, you big dummy. We also fired Gus for 8-5. Harsin didn’t do a got damn thing to help himself.

“Harsin was a bad recruiter but”

Your pathetic excuses hold together like wet toilet paper, Kes.

I didn't realize there were any Harsin defenders left on the board.

No kidding.

Caddy did more for Auburn as a cheerleader on the sidelines in an interim role than Harsin ever did while here.

If Harsin wasn’t the worst coach ever for Auburn then our floor is extremely low.

Harsin took a 9 win probable team (11 win capable) in ‘21 and turned them into a 6 win team.

I mean this with all sincerity… you are a complete idiot. How one person can be so loud wrong about so many things is impressive.

Gus never won a thing without Chizik’s elite stockpile of offensive lineman. He could rarely recruit offensive tackles to Auburn at all.

Gus left Harsin with arguably the worst offensive line and wide receiver rooms in the SEC and little talent on the roster overall.

Both of you are right. Gus and Harsin created and made a mess of AU football. But Harsin was worse.

Gus tried. He has coaching flaws but he put in the effort.

Harsin sat on his arse and collected checks. The stories coming out about his lack of effort in recruiting are appalling.

Oh my god who cares?

In actual recruiting news. May have already been mentioned, but 2025 #1 dual threat QB Deuce Knight visited on wednesday.

LINK

quote:

I just wanted to stop by and see places that’s recruiting me," Knight said. "Every school that’s recruiting me, I kinda want to stop by and see. It was a good time, the campus is nice. The facility, it’s the best facility I’ve been to, but I’ve had a good time.

quote:

It was fun watching practice," Knight said. "They compete hard. Offense, they had a good day. Just seeing them throw it around, move around, run, it was cool.

quote:

The players weren't the only ones he was observing. Knight paid attention to Montgomery's coaching style.

"He coached good, he made sure all his players knew everything," Knight said. "He made sure they know everything they need to know before they get on the field

You say that as if Harsin didn’t just sit back and work with Gus dudes.

Tell me, who did Harsin recruit for the OL? Nobody. He happily ran with Gus dudes on the OL no matter how terrible you say they were.

Gus neglected to recruit OL. Harsin neglected to recruit anyone. Gus was stubborn as a mule and didn't adapt his approach. Harsin had no approach. Gus was bad at the end, but Harsin was heads and shoulders worse.

Gus should have been fired a year or two sooner than he was, but Haskins should have been fired before he got out of the hot tub.

Do people forget that Gus’ 2021 recruiting class was ranked in the 40s BEFORE he got fired? He was on track for an all time bad class.

Recruits got wind that Gus was gone. There is nothing we could do about that. How did he recruit the year before?
