As I expected injured. Completing 57% 3TDs 3ints. That’s not an upgrade or nor a difference maker in my opinion

Your opinion is shite. Dude was injured this year. Post his 2022 stats meat head

eta: 124 carries 700 yards 13 tds; 64% completion, 3k yards 20 Tds 6 ints as a first year starter. I'll take that any day of the week for our Qb room.

Good Lord. Everyone is saying go get a portal QB. If that QB wins the job great if not we have Thorne.

Our offense was pathetic early on and Thorne was just a very slight portion of that. So stop the nonsense of trying to dump on Thorne. No one buys the bullshite anymore. He’s a average SEC QB no one is trying to make him out to be anything more

We can always go find Thorne some competition. We want better than average.

Would strongly prefer a better option than Thorne but we’ll probably need someone regardless

Leonard has a way higher ceiling than Thorne. Don’t know how it moves the needle if he’s hurt

Leonard has been banged up all season. Go watch his film from last year, but I don’t think he’ll be the QB we push for.

I would be more excited about the football season if we had Leonard.

But I am not saying tell Thorne go take a hike. Kiffin got Sanders and an LSU QB while knowing Dart was set to return. That is something I would expect coaches that care about offense to do. Nobody knows zilch about our backup. Once QBs go down these coaches still have to keep their bills paid.

You white knight for below average Throne, so your opinion doesn’t matter much.

Been wondering this too. Just in general, not directed at Smuphy

I don’t mind the idea of Thorne in year 2 if things keep opening up as he progresses

He lost his last job after starting for two years

That’s up for debate. He wasn’t promised to be the starter by Mel Tucker. Mel’s belief is that no one has a starting role going into the season and every position is open. Now, from what I have seen is fans were asking for a change at QB. It was a probability he would not be the starter, but he didn’t officially lose the starting role before transferring.

Thorne has some flaws as we have seen but he has shown some improvement now that he is starting full time, but if there is a better option available in the portal, we need that QB to come to Auburn.

If we pull some of these top receivers being thrown around here, it might make it easier to pull one available to transfer.

How am I white knighting for Thorne. I said we need a portal QB that’s a difference maker. Said Thorne was an average SEC QB. We need better than average. We need a QB that can give us 2 more wins with him being on the field the reason we won those 2 extra games. You’re reaching bro.

Just because I’m not a big Riley Leonard fan doesn’t mean there aren’t difference makers out there.

I would also rather get a portal QB that has 2 years to play. Think it balances out the young QBs coming onto the roster

Doubt he's on our radar, but a RB from South Carolina named Traevon Dunbar had 8 TDs and over 300 yards tonight. Over 3000k for the season. If you're just someone who likes watching film he's def worth a watch. Best RB in SC imo.

Pratt from Tulane would be my bet, but I think a few other names will pop up.

UCLA may be open at the end of the year. Their QB may leave. Kid has been starting as a Freshman was benched but came back and is the starter again.

Neuhisel says that Moore kid has an amazing skill set and thinks he will be a big time QB in college and go pro. Had really high praise for him.

sounds a lot like Thorne’s stats as a first year starter

60.4% completion, 3200 yards , 27 TDs 10 ints

only big difference is rushing yards, but Thorne has proven he capable of moving the ball on the ground this year

and lets face it, his HC who supposedly gave up on him hasn’t exactly shown good judgement in other areas

Not worth a whole thread, but the announcers during this Washington St game are talking shite. Schmedding is the DC of their mighty 4-6 team and they are talking about how him and Harsin we're done wrong and how he's so much better off

I feel like geriner may have produced similar results at best but I also feel that people who make the money that freeze does and sees things daily that we do not would have made that call if it were the right one. Robby has not improved as a passer and that is very obvious.
