Small update on 4* ATH Malcom Simmons, he’s wanting to make a decision before Fall. Reading between the lines, it would appear he does not yet have an offer he can commit to. We do like him at WR so it may just be a numbers game. They may add him without knowing if they feel like they can get back into it with Cam Coleman. Regardless, sounds like he’ll be one of the guys at BCW

Jonesy can we go ahead and edit Cain's rating to 4* on the first page? It makes me feel better when I open the thread before reading how bad our recruiting is.

Has to get the composite first. I’ve been trying to go with On3’s

So we made the top 8 for Nate Frazier. One of, if not the top RB this year.
Don't know what kind of shot we have here because this is really the first we're hearing about him.
Interesting bit of info.. He goes to Mater Dei. Same school are DeAndre Carter who we are recruiting on the OL.

I joked a few pages back, Id love for Carter to talk to the OT on his line and the DT across the line, they always have a lot of good players coming out of there.

Malcolm Simmons, I read where several raved about him, but always with the caveat "he is very raw". That part can be fixed, they said the athletic ability is off the charts. But no one mentions if he has Roberto Duran hands or a good set. Sounds like you are correct Jonesy they may offer at big cat and let him accept.
Regarding Coleman, Smuphy may be correct. Read in a couple of places that he really ticked off the coaches, not with his decision but issues around his recruitment, whatever that means.
If, big if, Thompson flips, we have Cain and get Simmons, that will be a nice haul at receiver.

Not just the coaches, but the Coach.

Casey Poe is committing today around 6-7 depending on your time zone. I think Oklahoma and Bama are the favorites.
What that means is after today I can officially ignore the rest of OL recruiting because I don't care about a single one of the rest of the guys we are after lol.
I don't understand why we haven't told Reese Baker to commit by now though. Not like we have a board full of guys we are waiting on. He might be the only HS recruit we get, so hopefully he's not having second thoughts now too.

Seemed like we were out of the picture after his Bama OV in June. I think that’s when he started picking up predictions there
For all the talk about top 100 guys, receivers, Nick Saban comps, Kiffin, and all the other stuff lately, the biggest frustration to me is still HS OL recruiting. Portal helped us forget a little about it but HS OL/DL are the true red flags still for me.

Do we have a recording artist like Eric Church, who is performing in a concert to raise NIL money for the Tarheels of NC.

We’ve been a doormat program since most of these current recruits were 8 years old. We pretty clearly don’t have “fvck you” money to toss around, as evidenced by Cam Coleman committing to the dumpster fire in College Station.
Hugh’s going to have to get lucky in the portal to turn the program around. Good luck to him.

OL was looking good for a minute and then fizzled out. Basically down to Baker, Carter and Riggs right now and Riggs is 50/50. I've said the whole time this year would be heavy on the portal for OL, but I still expected HS OL recruiting to be going better.

I think Jimmy Buffett flunked out his freshman year at AU and ultimately finished at Southern Mississippi. Maybe we could offer him an honorary doctorate in music or business. He's done well in both.

So are we still in the running for Taumua at all? I thought we had a good chance at DeAndre Carter.
We will just have to pick some up in the portal. Heck in the last 3 years, at tackle alone, not total linemen, but tackle alone Georgia has signed 8.....and they have 5 more committed for this year. And yes I know some will move/moved inside, but they also recruited some interior guys as well during that span.
They must think OL can win championships or something.

Not sure about Carter. Maybe there's been some new info lately, but I think last I heard we wanted him to visit again. Its hard to get a guy to come from Cali though.

OL/DL talent seems really scarce in our usual recruiting grounds this year. Last year was loaded, and I think if Haskins wasn’t so terrible at recruiting, even he would’ve landed some studs.

This is true and OL\DL recruits are generally much more measured in their approach. It's a 24 month recruitment with them.
I will worry if next July we aren't making up on the OL and DL with high school kids.

Poe to bama is official. Just tell Thorton to help recruit WRs for the rest of the year or something lol.

We’re fine when it comes to money, but Auburn is smart with what they have.
Auburn isn’t going to offer a kid with character issues a stupid amount of money.
