retarded... blaming Gus because Pettway blew up his sophomore season?

Yeah. That's exactly what he is blaming Gus for... For Pettway having a breakout season.

I am just pointing out a pattern. JJ failure. Kam under utilized. Gus doesn't seem to play the most talented.

Chip is just as washed up as Gus. If you want to fire Gus, Chip isn't the answer.

Chip is like 44-6 his time at oregon..
Pros are completely different, just ask Saban.

Gus is no where near 44-6

No thanks. His O was handled pretty well every time he faced an SEC team.

He could not recruit an OL to compete with SEC DL. We turn get luxury to turn down guys like Jordan Tucker, chip would have to fight for him.

He wouldn't be a guarantee, but his SEC losses were against 2010AU and 2011LSU. I don't think many teams beat either of those. Problem with Chip, he lost games he should have won every year and thrived when USC was on probation. Gus just needs a new OC that has a passing game package.

That's cute. You think Gus will actually give up play calling

I agree Gus has way underperformed and who knows what Stidham can do. But these fans who are putting Chip on a pedestal thinking he could do better undoubtly don't watch sports or are talking out of there arse. What has chip done....I keep hearing 44-6 at Oregon. 1. How many championships did he win,2. What happened when Oregon played a team in the SEC there line was destroyed. Gus and Auburn could go to the weak 10 and go 48-2. Its weak as piss. The SEC grind is like no other. Other than bama who dominates every week. And if we had 10 #1 classes in a row then we would dominate too. Before you say we should recruit better, well if that's what you want open your pocket book for 4-5 years and pay players to come here.

We aren't going to get #1 classes pulling the "herp derp" on National TV in the Sugar Bowl. Nick Saban didn't inherit a #1 class his first year at Bama. He earned it. Sure, Bama "bought it", but dollars go a lot further with great coaching.

Chip's OL recruiting etceteras will improve merely by being an SEC team. The recruits down here are just better. The point is that Chip would be a massive improvement as a coach and WOULD be competitive with every SEC team every year...day one.

I'm not 110% on the Chip Kelly Train, but I am 100% off the Gus Bus.

What kills me about these discussions is that so many people on here are arguing from a perspective of PERPETUAL mediocrity.

Occam's razor says that in the face of lots of complex possibilities the simplest solution must be true. Chizik and Gus' body of head coaching work are glaringly poor over time. We won in 2010 because of Cam Newton. And 2013 was all Nic Marshall. That's it. Face it. Own it. Love the trophy, but we've got to move on.

As a (prison) CEO, I don't rely on Black Swan's to carry my company. Consistency is probably the most important ingredient in success. It is THE main ingredient in "The Process".

Past behavior predicts future performance. Gus has shown us that he isn't consistent from quarter to quarter much less game to game and year to year.

I want a consistently great program, which will birth Championships, and Gus is not going to give us that. Any focus on Rhett Lashlee or Stidham or recruiting or anything else is noise.

I'm talking to you Mr. President, Boosters >>>>>> Fire Gus. Fire JJ. Same time. Day apart. Don't care.

Get it done.

Anyone can coach a team with all 5 stars on it that are bought. Cone one seriously mike, you might need to go back to prison with that logic. Everyone here at the beginning of the year was begging and pleading for Bobby Petrine and look what he did this year. Everyone always wants what we don't got. Its what the world has be one. Like the 2nd and 3rd string qb is always better till they okay, like everyone on this board is the goat armchair coach who would do this or that yet never coached a day in the life. Face it if AU wants to be good we have to bring down bama and there cheating and destroy the REC

I see Chip as more of a NFL tryout that does better in college. He had some good things going at Oregon, they just didn't have the size in defense to compete with SEC. He'd have the size factor at Auburn.

But I don't see Jacobs giving him full control, and sadly I don't think Chip would want to come here. Probably offensive coordinator in the NFL.

CK rode Darren Thomas to the title game, and recruited MM who won the Heisman and is starting in the NFL. I'd say he has an eye for talent.

He'll yeah he can recruit talent. He also got the most oUT of 3 stars. Look at the guys he put in the league. Not many of them were well known.
As far as the Olinew goes he would get big linemen down here. He was recruiting out of Washington state. Not a lot of big nasties up there like there is in Jawga.
