.what does it say if we can't pull the DC at USF to Auburn?
That we didn't offer him the job?

I don't think Tom Allen said no....
I Don't think we ever offered.
I think he interviewed and we'll probably give him a strong look after Gus gets done with all interviews

He's a fallback guy who may end up getting the job. Anyone who thinks he turned it down is dumb.

I was thinking of a scenario where we would contact him and have him signed before Michigan had a chance to show any interest.
Of course that would have involved Gustav picking out a specific candidate, interviewing him, offering him the gig, and getting him to sign a contract, in a shorter period than the 18 days it took Harbaugh to replace Durkin with Brown.

Go look at where Don Brown has spent virtually his entire coaching career. He's 60 years old and hasn't stepped foot anywhere near the South. I have no idea why people keep bringing his name up; you're talking about a man that was perfectly content spending a ~decade just coaching around the Ivy League. He is a region-locked coach who clearly would have no interest in coaching in the South, let alone jumping ship at 60 years old to a program that may fire its HC in a year.
Edit: I plotted all of Brown's jobs on a map (prior to Michigan), and the following was the result:

Unfortunately it doesn't look like it.
I would at least like to make him say no thanks. It seems like Gus never even showed interest...

It will be Roof or Diaz. If Diaz declines we will have roof back.

It's all Roof, Gus worked with him in the past. I would really like the Diaz hire.
