I wouldn't mind Joe Whitt at all. His secondary is always superb in GB. He seems happy in the NFL though. Anyone know what he is making? I can't find it anywhere but he's been content with 7 years as a CB coach. Maybe he could come here for 4-5 years and make a name for himself as a DC then get a look in the pros again?

PM says Gus has interviewed at least one candidate in the past few days maybe two. Still believes Tom Allen is #1 target and something could be announced after USFs bowl game Monday

Saw something about Todd Grantham's name being in the mix (SDS article)

Thoughts on him?

We're not paying Grantham Muschamp money.

Well I fricking hope not. But I wouldn't be opposed to him being hired.

We're talking about someone who did not stop OUR offense this year. Pass.

Go ask the leghumpers what they think of him. If Auburn is stupid enough to hire him and pay him Muschamp money we are truly lost. Louisville's defense has gotten worse each year that he has been there.

Grantham is hired and I will truly melt. First time ever for AU football. Probably even more so than the 2012 season.

The Sumlin out at A&M seems to be picking up steam. If that's the case I say go after Chavis.

I still like Tom Allen and Jack Curtis too.

No Grantham!

They would owe Sumlin his entire contract within 60 days of being fired. They aren't coming up with $20mil+ to fire Sumlin this year

Sumlin isn't being fired.

Unless they find a reason to fire him with cause.

With something this high profile they won't find cause because the only "cause" would be as embarrassing and punishing as a $20mil buyout

It's not that easy... just ask USCw or auburn baseball. You may be justified, but the fired coach is going to sue 99% of the time... and then everyone's dirty laundry is getting aired out.
