Parting with Gus probably means parting with the entire staff.

As fans we like to see a favorite or two retained but it’s like the girlfriend in college that you break up with but wants to be friends still because you’ll have to see eachother around.

Sounds like a good idea until the new girlfriend finds out you guys still talk and sets your couch on fire and throws your roommate’s heavy arse TV on to Glenn Ave.

I don’t have any personal experience with this but I’d pass on retaining one of the old staff. Maybe in a few years you can bring a guy back if it works out

"pussy shite" in this case being hit with 15 violations, vacating wins, losing scholarships, and being banned from post-season play for 2 years

It’s okay to admit it, my friend. While I was at AU, I dated a girl from West Virginia too.

I would love for Garner, Caddy, Kodi, and T-Will to land on their feet elsewhere instead of going down with the sinking ship.

Yep. Whoever eventually replaces Gus should be able to have whoever they want on staff and rarely is it wise to keep pieces of the previous staff.

There was another message board rumor suggesting Beamer was going to go “all in” on Joe Brady as OC

Feel free to feel skeptical. That was pulled straight from a JC Shurburt article. Not just a message board rumor.

“It’s not about the money.”

“It’s not you, it’s me.”

Your quote has a certain depth of emotion to it that can only come from direct experience with human emotion. There’s a miniseries within you. Write it. Remember the “Burning Bed” with Farrah Fawcett?

It will not be Freeze, not sure the SEC would allow it. They would not let us hire him as OC.

I think Mario is the play here. Is there questions? Yes, but his main skill is recruiting and that is the driver for CFB. Bowden was a terrible HC, but he recognized that if you have the more talented team, you will win the majority of games. I am tired of our fanbase pumping up OL transfers from Harvard while UGA is pulling in 5* freshman.

ETA:

Second would be Campbell. He is possibly the best pound for pound coach in the country.

Campbell reminds me of a young Urban Meyer. He makes fantastic decisions on and off the field. Do not mistake for old Urban

You can remove your top tier. No way any of those 3 happen (folks may argue Stoops but I think he is happy where he is).

If we hit your sleeper list, we are truly f'ed (except for maybe Fickell).

BTW - No Freeze?? List is sh*t!! Just kidding ..... kind of .....

You guys should listen to the first ~29 minutes of this Podcast:

LINK

It goes over the idea of replacing Gus and talking about specific candidates. It also goes over the need to get everyone on the same page for ANY coaching candidate to succeed (this is where your Tennessee's and FSU's screwed up).

Also talks about how Fickell might be a better fit than Matt Campbell because of closer recruiting ties to the Southeast. Thats the biggest question mark with Campbell who is strictly a Midwest guy. I think he's going to get the Michigan job regardless, and that fits his comfort zone better anyway.

So many people are afraid of turning into Tenn. by making a coaching change, but they refuse to see that we are sliding in the direction already by keeping Gus. Sad.

Rumor is Grimes may consider Roof/Muschamp and Bobo as coordinators.

Sources claim Pelini and Scott Loefler have had inquiries.
