Only 20 of Steven Clark's 198 punts during his three seasons as the punter were returned, and now that he's gone, Auburn is starting all over again at a position that proved important in big games last season.

That stat is simply ridiculous. Clarks lob wedge punts to the 2 yard line will be greatly missed!

I am a big fan of the "Don't effing punt" philosophy Read this link to know why

Stephen Clark could be the only exception considering how he pinned people consistently

Can't help but feel we are going to have a electric WR corps this year. Ray is a pretty well rounded guy it seems.

The "Cinco" package is a 3-3-5 alignment, which includes the removal of a defensive lineman and the addition of a speedster off the edge.

Is anyone else just not confident about this package being introduced and possibly used in games?

I have yet to see a 3-3-5 dominate anything, much less with our personnel and the lack of true shutdown DB's.

Most recent example, Mizzou tried a 3-3-5 when we were spreading them out in the SECCG and it failed miserably. It just seems like such an easy formation to make adjustments for.

As a package, I'm fine with it. It is a formation that gives people fits. Offenses don't see it, so it is very frustrating.

I wouldn't like it as our base, but for a sub package, I have no problem with it.

It's not really all that different from our base package.

Exchange out a DT for a LB.

My opinion on how it will work...
Cass will move around and blitz (as in a way the 3-4 is played).
Justin Garrett will move down to LB with Frost.
Therezie will play Star.

Ya because trying to run a 3-3-5 against a dominant OL with one of most elite in traffic RBs in the past few years is just dumb.

Our DTs are our strength and we will be able to do some solid lane clogging with a Gabe Wright, Monty/Blackson/Whitaker , Devonte Lambert front 3 where all of them are around 290+ in weight.

Yea, that is most likely how it will be done.

WVU had some decent success with the 3-3-5 scheme. Like I said, it can drive QB's nuts as it is something they aren't use to seeing.

If it was our main scheme then yes if be worried. Mizzou used it against a heavy run team which I didn't understand. I would be using against pass heavy teams and passing situations.

I think Mizzou used it because they had tried everything else with no success so they decided, what the hell... couldn't hurt anymore than what we're doing now.
