I imagine it would be hard for Ole Miss to prove anything even if it appears Hugh is calling plays.
Think of all the years wr have speculated who is actually calling plays

We would owe them a buyout.

How high could it possibly be for their WR coach?

I say we name Nix play caller but it’d be a real shame if he develops laryngitis on Fall weekends. Medical condition…can’t do anything about that

For a lowly position coach (according to them) they sure are melting hard.

I don't see how that clause is truly enforceable to be honest. I guess it all lies in the language, but the semantics around what "full time playcaller" actually means is probably pretty easy to argue away and get around, and highly doubtful Ole Miss would decide to go after it. Would be a very bad look for them.

Does full time play-caller mean you are the one that relays the play to the signal guys? I think it is all much ado about nothing. Nix will be involved in play-caling, as any OC is. Doesn't mean the HC won't also be involved and may ultimately have final say.

As a guy who knows a little bit about contract law, I would be interested to see Nix's. I'm not even sure how to write a "he has to call plays or he owes a buyout" clause in such a way that it would be enforceable or stand up. Ole Miss obviously isn't going to be on Auburn's headsets.

As if what you're hired to do today is the same thing you'll be doing three months from now. . . Responsibilities change.

Hire him as play caller now and come 5th snap let Hugh decide to take over.

What problem?

You going to screw over your new OC to save some dimes Charles? Seems like a smart decision.

I saw somewhere that Nix got the Co-OC title. We know who the other OC is?

What would we be screwing him out of?

So, full-time primary co-play-calling duties.

Supposedly Nix would owe OM the buyout….common sense would tell you as a part of his deal to move to Auburn, they would absorb that…..IF it was being paid.

From what I have seen there is almost no way OM could enforce it but I’d sure love to see Kiffin try and the ensuing narrative of him working to keep black coaches from advancing.
