I love Caddy but our program is not in position to be doing employment favors for people because of what they mean to Auburn

Agreed. My take from the Ron Roberts thread:
quote:

Sounds like Kiffin is the top choice and Arnett is a very, very good backup plan. Personally I prefer Arnett. I just think he’s a really good defensive coach. Don’t love the 3-3-5 in the SEC but he (like basically everyone) primarily ran a 4-2-5. Kiffin is an elite recruiter though and calls an aggressive defense. I’m more than happy with either one.

Update on coaching moves -

Auburn Live is live now. Zach McKinnell just said future with Caddy uncertain, he fully expects Derrick Nix to come on board as OC. They’re just trying to determine what position he will coach.

The way his contract is worded at Arky it makes it extremely difficult for him to leave, thankfully.

I think Caddy is gone, he is simply overpaid for what he delivers.

I think Nix takes over RB coach.

I'm glad I am not the only one who thinks this. He needs to learn a curveball in the minor leagues or something.

I think Freeze needs other elite recruiters so he can also play call offense and or at least be involved in game plans. Caddy, although came through to lift the fan base when it was needed does not help in a wide swath of recruiting.

You’re not. I appreciate what Caddy means to Auburn, but he’s not a great recruiter and the results at running back have been decent, but not great.
