If you ask me I think South Carolina made a mistake. They’re not going to be contending for championships no matter who is coaching any time soon. Auburn has a better program but you know, I think getting through the pandemic should still be commanding all attention of the sports world.

We’ll have to see. They definitely weren’t with Muschamp. Just as Auburn definitely won’t with Gus.

Apparently South Carolina asked Muschamp to reduce his salary because of Covid and that actually lowered his buyout from 15+ million to just a shade over 13m. I think they did him dirty but that’s just me. They probably felt pressure because of Hugh Freeze doing so well though. For their sake I hope they at least already have their guy...

Man, T-Rob was loyal but his stock has sank like crazy. That defense has been awful

Yeah that has been surprising. I used to think he was a rising star but much like his mentor, the movement up has exposed his flaws.

We let Ole Miss get Lane and now looks like Freeze will end up at South Carolina, FML!

Gave up almost 500 yards to our struggling offense. By comparison, our defense gave up less than 300

We still deserved to lose but their defense was still awful

I mean, he was still cashing his check each month. If you are getting paid and not doing your job, you are subject to being fired. These guys are getting CEO money. There is no wait it out situation.

When Alabama rose to power under Saban, Auburn followed with 2 SECC’s, 1 national title, and 1 runner up within 7 years of his hiring.

South Carolina has done nothing but suck since Clemson’s rise.

What better time?

They just got a jump on next year by trashing a garbage season, in a year where nobody looses eligibility.
We should be so lucky.

I don’t know. Maybe when they aren’t going to be short 60 million from the pandemic.

Not to mention the new coach is going to be hamstrung by trying to recruit by zoom on his very first day. Not great, Bob.

Also, you bring up player eligibility....there will still be the usual coaching change exodus of players with eligibility leaving for other schools. Consider that a push.

That’s some Ole Miss type bragging. West titles?

If you win the west, you’re contending for titles.

Which is exactly what you said we would never do with Gus. That’s the point

If so he will probably have Willis transfer and be immediately eligible. Willis will probably become SEC player of the year.

They have shared west titles. Either way, bragging about west titles is silly. The fact remains, Gus has never made the playoffs.
