He's eligible for HOPE and Zell Miller, but couldn't get into/doesn't want to go to UGA or Tech. And he's grown-up with two alumni parents, aunts and uncles and a set of grandparents that are all Auburn alum so it's hard to convince him otherwise. $50k/year out the door with tuition and room & board.

We paid $5265/year my freshman year and about $2000/year after I got in-state tuition.

It's absolutely crazy how much it costs now.

Same boat here, but I made a deal with my oldest. Go in-state and get Zell/Hope money and I’ll make up the difference in what it would cost to go to AU out of state once you graduate. He did the math and came to a very easy decision. My youngest graduates next year and he’s already asking if he can get the same deal as his brother

“T Boone Pickens has donated 652 million to Texas A&M, 165 million specifically to help build Kyle Field...”

Wow I didn’t know that. I thought he sent all his donations to Okie State, his alma mater. Never knew he also supported Texas A&M or any other schools, especially with that kind of money.

You mean Oklahoma State. Pickens has never donated anything to Texas A&M….they cut him from his basketball scholarship in the 40’s, he went to OSU and they have benefited greatly from it. He built that program…it was the OSU stadium he helped to upgrade, its why its named Boone Pickens Stadium.
