Rhule also has an offset clause in his buyout agreement

Yeah I am not sure how that works between NFL and college, though.

Meanwhile Freeze’s last two games at Ole Miss

38-17 loss to Vandy
55-20 loss to MSU

To finish off a 5-7 season where the 5 wins got vacated.

We could do worse I guess, but Kiffin should be the main target

Harsin has never been approached by the NFL. Rhule has.

Harsin is a mountain west coach. Rhule built two college programs from the ground up. He’s the absolute best candidate. He should be given top priority. He wants to win. It’s not close.

How upset will the Rhule fanboys be when he takes either the Wisky or Nebraska HC job?

Not mad, just disappointed.

But really, I think he could fit well at Nebraska so I would understand. I just hope we at least make an offer.

Why would he take either of those over Auburn?

Aranda went 2-7 in the COVID year after taking over for Rhule. Not sure what the issue was there. Could be Rhule’s fault, could be COVID’s fault, could be Aranda’s. But that is against the same soft schedule Rhule had according to some on here.

Then went 12-2 obviously. Won the Big 12. Won the Sugar bowl.

Now is 3-2. Both losses to ranked teams.

I actually think he’s a lot less proven than Rhule. I do like him as a coach. I’d put him at #3 on my list probably.

I'm not putting my eggs in one basket. Rhule is merely on my list of top candidates for consideration (not in any particular order).

Rhule
Aranda
Kiffin

Next tier for me (Not overly excited about)

Grimes
Freeze

Choices not sure how they would do recruiting in our neck of the woods or even consider the SEC because of their roots.

Fickell
Campbell

Coach that is at least intriguing:

Deion would definitely be a high profile hire due to his name. Him and Pearl promoting Auburn would be a marketing grand slam on its own. Not overly confident in this one, but hell why not. We suck bad anyway. He won't be intimidated by those who hire him.

My honest opinion is that our hire will be underwhelming and we will be asking for the next coach to be fired within 3 years. That the debates we are all having are in vain.

Any one of the 3 is fine by me. But it won't be.

So we’ve moved on from Prime? Or Kiffin? Now it’s Rhule or bust?

I can’t keep up with flavor of the day

My guess is Rhule to Wisconsin and Aranda to Nebraska. Grimes promoted by Baylor. We get Lane or Deion

You’re just upset because you know it won’t be Rodney Garner.
