LSU has at least kept Corral from hitting the big runs. Corral is probably the Heisman though.

Ole Miss is going to be a fun night game in Jordan Hare

They'll be 6-1, in the top 10, and will have just blown out an opponent that we had to play tough.

We're going to have to really bring it. If we catch the ball, we can win. If we don't, it will be like UGA all over again.

Ole Miss won’t stress us near as much defensively as Georgia did. The key to that game could be winning the total number of productive drives. If we have 9 productive drives and they have 10 then they probably win. I’m not used to shoot outs but in games like 2013 A&M we had to be pedal on the medal right along with the other offense and be near perfect.

We always play well against Ole Miss. We are rested and playing at home. Both playing with 1 SEC loss.

I think it will come down to open field tackling and turnovers. Whoever wins those probably wins the AU/OM game.

We have a little more overall talent. Home field. So unless you think Corral is just that much better then everyone which he isn’t… or you think we are going to get totally out coached then we should win a close game.

This isn’t the same LSU in red stick that we played.

No dis on the Rebel Bears. They’re darn good.

We’ll have to play our best to win. I like our chances.

I watched Ole Miss play against Bama in Tuscaloosa and home crowd didn’t really affect them. That was pretty impressive. They made like 3 fourth down conversions while the crowd was going crazy. It was that they didn’t nail all the fourth down conversions that stunted their drives

It was like a modern 3-2.

Yeah how in the world do you have 9 OTs and only 38 combined points?

That's an insane stat.

Well they were trash in all the OTs but also new rules this year that I wasn’t aware of til I saw that train wreck:
1) have to go for 2 starting in 2OT
2) everything after 2OT is just each team going for a 2pt conversion; bunch of one play drives to limit number of plays and more quickly end games

We see how that worked out

Better conversation, Oklahoma is about to hand Georgia a free playoff win. How do they keep escaping the upset?

Ole Miss is good.

Our D will have to defend for four downs. We need to hit their QB early and often. We need to tackle well.

Our O needs to get the running game going. We need to limit their touches on O. We need TD drives and not FG drives.

Did not know that.

Not sure how I feel about that. Seems kind of dumb.

Is there a cap on total OT's?

Otherwise you could get God knows how many.

Run the ball on offense. Stop the run on defense. Win the game.

I think it was changed bc of the number of plays a team had to endure if the OTs went past 4.

So in this game after the first 2 OTs, then had 7 OTs:

2 point conversion rules: Maximum 7 plays
old rule starting at 25: Maximum 84 plays(4 plays per 1st down or goal to go).

And the game would last forever if they kept playing...

It's obvious they changed the rules for the TV networks. Don't want to lose potential revenue if a game goes long.

There are no football reasons for it, other than potential injuries as players get tired (but those can happen at any time during regulation too).

I thought the original CFB o/t rules were ideal. I was okay with the change to the PAT after 2 periods. But this system sucks.

It's like the baseball rule where all extra innings start with a runner on second.
