The amendment that we defeated here in FL that would have made it legal to smoke, would have allowed people to smoke it anywhere, if you read the law even where you can't smoke cigarettes like the beach.
And it would only allow 5 companies (same as our Medical MJ) to go from Growing to selling. You wouldn't be allowed to grow it for personal use. (BAD LAW) anyway, allowing people to smoke anywhere would have made it bad here in FL in public.

That is extremely sad.
The public at large doesn't even want to smell or breathe the cigarette smoke. They dont want to be bothered by another's vices. People have to be responsible and respectful citizens first and foremost in everything they do. Anybody that smokes pot, drinks sixers, drinks bourbon, gambles, dips tobacco, carries a gun, and so on have to handle themselves appropriately. Some decisions carry more responsibility than others and some have to go greater lengths to be lawful and mindful of others. The pot smell travels further and lasts longer than cigarette smoke and I know this because I am in the projects at least twice a week, and you can smell it in the mid afternoon.
As for me I can leave my 3 acre lot looking immaculate with only a smell of fresh cut grass with a sixer on a hot sunny day. I can also drink a sixer and watch a game without the whole community knowing it. There are no public disturbances, domestic violence arrests, drunkenness and so on that the community has to deal with this. I am in for the night. Families dont want to deal with any disturbances, and I dont even live in an HOA. Property values can drop if the neighbor is less than ideal.
When my roommate smoked pot he was responsible. He didn't smoke and tell, nor did he act carelessly with the smoke. He simply explained he was in for the night and smoked in his well ventilated room so none of us bothered him then. If people cannot reciprocate the same level of respect for their community then they dont need to be smoking. Cowarding to accusations of racial undertones is the last thing that needs to be done.

Yea, I am glad that it didnt pass and I voted against it. Though I parkate "occasionally", I do it in a way as not to affet others. I am cettainly TeamJang on this one. I dont want to smell that shite all the time everywhere I go and you know for sure that is what would happen

Visited Frisco Colorado for a day and barely could walk around with all the idiots standing around burning. No thank you and I pray Florida never passes it.

Fully on board with this philosophy. Don't care what you do in the privacy of your home so long as it doesn't affect kids or others that don't want to be involved, nor do I want to have to pay for it or the after affects.

It should be legal and/or allowable to smoke marijuana anywhere it is legal to smoke tobacco. We live in the United States of America.
If you think pot smells worse, it is only because you grew up socialized to the smell of tobacco. Any type of smoke is not good to breathe, but tobacco smoke is typically much worse than regulated MJ. Much more tar etc.
Does anyone remember smoking a cigarette for a first time? If you haven't please do, and come back and tell me that its not intoxicating. I don't smoke cigs, but the first time I did, I couldn't walk. Arguably then, drivers shouldn't be allowed to smoke ANYTHING. People that smoke cigs with no effect have a tolerance to nicotine, which is something people build to THC and other cannabinoids. We either have zero tolerance or equal tolerance in legal states.
Going overboard is another thing, and it is the same with tobacco. Anyone ever had the spins from nicotine? Evacuated your bowels?

Why not?
People can smoke a cigarette or black and mild 25 yards outside of their work building, if the employer doesn't mind.
I'm not someone smoking joints etc all over the place, but just see a double standard, thats all.
