Not sure why this is that far of a stretch for others to believe, considering they literally issued METH to soldiers to give them energy and avoid sleep.

re: Are goods shortages really coming in the next 2-4 weeks due to Tariffs/halted shipments?

As an importer, I am not sure how it would impact you that quickly. You are looking at 3 weeks on the water and 3 weeks to stores, broadly speaking.
Anything we are working on now where retailers are cutting forecasts are for fall sets, around August/September-ish timeframes. Retailers have definitely pulled back on both dollars and units.
That being said, I don't know what people would even notice.

Driving Miss Daisy - still a great movie

Popped up as a recommendation, and we watched it last night. I don’t think I’ve seen it in 25-30 years.
It held up, can’t believe how good it was. Jessica Tandy played the role to perfection - anybody that grew up in the south knew an old lady like her.
If you haven’t seen it, check it out.
If you have seen it, give it another go.

re: How many baws here still listen to the regular ole free radio these days?
Posted by concrete_tiger on 4/29/25 at 4:02 pm
Ironically, the only free radio I listen to is via streaming. The channel the Braves come on has such a shitty signal, I just use the 680 app or listen on SiriusXM. I listen to Auburn games the same way, either on the Auburn app or Sirius.
I love to sit by the fire and listen to sports, it's more enjoyable than TV announcers. Plus, fire and beer.

Not only is a "true" story, but they opening video is the actual video of the diver when they found him on the manifold. Wild.
Dude went back to work 3 weeks after the incident.

Doubtful. While Indians as you know them may be business-savvy and conservative, they are actually free-loading socialists. They abuse every free program and are more than happy to break rules to take advantage of laws and govt programs. Meanwhile, they remit BILLIONS AND BILLIONS back to the motherland.
I wish they'd reform or eliminate the H1-B program as part of this big beautiful bill.

Canceled! A Seldom Seen existential crises!
According to the USDA, America produced 12.61 Million metric tons of pork in 2024.
Therefore China canceled about 0.0001, one thousandth of a percent!
Have you seen the high-rise hog farms they have built and are building in China? Quite literally, they are 20+ story hog farms with hundreds of thousands of pigs in one building. (seems like GREAT idea when for things like swine flu...)
China 26-story hog farms
They are also going around and smashing small farm operations like G-men smashing up stills. Can't have people getting all uppity and trying to feed their own family, now.
Can you imagine the stench? Can you imagine the sound? Can you imagine the effluent in the water supply? Yummy.

We have a huge department of lawyers to fight theft of intellectual property.
We spend all season having listings removed on Amazon and other sites.
We have to deal with retailers that copy our shite.
We have to raid factories in China that are stealing our IP.
We spend MILLIONS to ensure our products show up in search results instead of knockoffs.
We spend countless hours battling this. But yeah, tariffs are our problem?
Come on, it may suck arse now dealing with it, but it's for the greater good.

We just sold a load of cows an average of $3900/head. Somebody is eatin' beef. We even sold a cull bull for $100 less than we paid for it.
Tariffs haven't been the biggest issue, honestly. It's the stupid fricking war to preserve the piggy bank Ukraine that drove up fertilizer costs.

Because they think it will cause their shoppers to overreact.
We raised prices on a few items by a couple bucks, kept some the same, and dropped a few that wouldn’t work.
Retailers aren’t going to just accept price hikes, and they also don’t have more dollars to spend.
SHEIN sells direct, they can do whatever they want. They have opened a marketplace where they want sellers to sell on their platform like Amazon, too.

The in laws put them on their master bathroom at their beach condo.
Not only is there no sound privacy. You can clearly see into the bathroom from the bed because of the gap between wall and door.
