We’ll see if they dwell on it or learn from their mistakes, get pissed and focused, and have a great season.

The only thing that bothers me is, this was their West Virginia rain game moment. I think a win would’ve really boosted recruiting for this year.

With proper execution and playcalling, it was a winnable game. But what happened in reality, in spite of our woes, the zebras kept us in it. This is one game where I take the L and move on...

How so? Their Olinemen were literally tackling our Dlinemen and not a single holding call. PI on our DB, but not one on that fade route play (terrible play call by Bobo btw). Or what about the safety that wasn’t called? I think the zebras helped both teams out plenty.

Not to mention taking McClain out and giving them a first down when that is about as good a defensive play one could make there.

Not a fan of that phrase. Sounds too "Bammer-ish" for me.

Not a fan of the gameplan we went in with. But outside that, you just gotta tip your cap to the other team. They made the plays when they needed them. We didn't.

If our WRs catch the ball, we win the game. It's really that simple. I don't even want a playmaker there. Give me someone that can reliably catch the damn ball.

Cmon, are we not gonna be honest with ourselves? The refs were shite for both sides, but we were the beneficiaries of a few calls that a more competent crew would've smoothed out before the next snap.

I'm more miffed over the things we COULD'VE controlled, but failed at. I just can't in good conscience blame the refs for this loss.

when it went to Bible, I knew we were screwed. He must have some compromising pics of somebody. It is amazing how awful he is at his job.

Hurt us:
-Targeting (as bad a call as I have ever seen and gave PSU 4 points).
-Non-Called Safety (Took time off the clock). Should have at least been reviewed.
-I actually think the PI was a reasonable call.(Have not seen the replay)

Helped Us
-Take a down away from PSU (Hard to say the impact, they should have had 3 and 12), but the Intentional grounding was correct, but questionable. Combined, cost them a series.

What cost us the game... Not defending a single pass (no pressure and no breakups), fumble to start the second half, dropped passes.

NOTE: We are the worse team in the country defending the pass and we thought that would be strength.. (Mason likes too much zone for me).

One view looked like a targeting, another view didn't show targeting. Refs tend to stick to the call in any judgement review.

Unless I can see on replay that the knee was down BEFORE he got the ball across the line, then I think he made it across just in time to avoid a safety.

Excellent point. Add in the only hurry, resulted in the INT(McClain late rushed the QB).
Lack of covering any TE on D, resulting in big plays.

Agree. It seems like the players are confused, especially against a good team such as PSU.

That didn’t t mean a hill of beans when the refs screwed us at the end of the game.

If we had executed more, it probably would've been enough to win, shite officiating notwithstanding. But when I also observe the team blowing their assignments on the regular as well, it's hard for me to convince myself that we were entitled a W. Hopefully we can turn this L into an LSU 13-type inspirational moment, and we bounce back from it on a mission...

You think we were the only team blowing assignments and benefiting from officiating errors?

I work for a living. Who is talking about this?

We got screwed with a targeting call, PI call, a non PI call, and possibly out of a safety. Being beneficiaries because Penn had to punt one down early in the game wasn’t ultimately that big of a deal

Looking back there was a lot of missed opprotunities for us to win. If Hudson didnt fumble he had wide open space to the left, and he was trying to secure the ball it just slipped on him. Lots of bad calls all around and lots of dropped passes. This team fought hard and is miles better than in the past.

They are still in the growing pains but will get there.

When a QB who is a overall 60% passer completes 12 out of 12 passes in the 2nd half, and finished with an 87% passing % which is the worst we have given up in 11 years....

....then on D we didn't play well. If we get at times a pass rush that forces their QB to rush his passes or moves out of the pocket, then we either hold them to FGs and we have a better chance to win...

I think it was a winnable game for auburn. I believe it was evenly matched talent wise for both teams. Auburn got out coached. The defense couldnt get any pressure on the qb and the short passes killed our dbs. I agreed with herbstreit the offense needed to use the run game to set up the play action because they kept selling out to stop the run. Harsin corrects those issues and auburn is a hard team to beat.
