All info courtesy of Stat Tiger of 247
Personnel Groupings against Arkansas:
2-TE ……… 22
3-WR ……... 13
3 TE ………. 11
Empty …….. 8
4-WR ……... 4 (Includes TE’s split out)
2-RB ……… 2
4 TE ………. 1
TE’s have been targeted 47 times this season, 29 times during the last three games. With Auburn’s struggles in the running game, I believe we will continue to see more 2 TE formations to assist the OL. The key is making sure Auburn utilizes them in the passing game too, which they have. Auburn’s TE’s have accounted for 33 receptions for 401-yards, a solid 12.1 YPR. I believe Landen King can become the vertical threat out of the TE grouping to begin making plays in the intermediate passing game. John Samuel Shenker already recorded a couple of intermediate receptions this season and Tyler Fromm is certainly cable of doing it too.

Am I correct in thinking a solid stable of TEs gives us a clear red zone advantage we haven't had in a long time?
King 6'5" 214lbs
Shenker 6'4" 249lbs
Fromm 6'5" 240lbs
Deal 6'5" 255lbs !!!
Frazier 6'7" 267lbs
Imagine the panic seeing a 2-4 TE set on the 7 yard line going up against a backfield of DBs that are, on average, 2-4 inches shorter...

He'll insist he's a WR lol.
He has been lining up at big slot and doing a hell of a job there. His hands are great.

Deal and ALL of our tight ends have had a LOT of playing time so far this season, and they have all played well, IMO. This unit could be scary, scary good next year and in the years to come in all phases of being quality SEC tight ends (plural intended). Feel free to list those attributes if you like and start checking off the boxes on each of them. War Eagle.
ETA - I have always been a huge fan of Stat Tiger and appreciate everything he has always brought to multiple boards. I hope he is getting paid for what he does. WDE,

He reminds me of Eric Ebron the TE with the Steelers.
But King needs to play a little more under control. He still looks like he needs some polishing.

One of the head scratchers of Gus was how hard he recruited TEs and never used them.

He never used them in the passing game. They were on the field a lot. Which is bad news if we’re not throwing to them
They’re getting better every week. That’s been the nice part — you can see the growth. And they’ve been some of our most reliable receivers

Think how productive guys like Uzomah, Canella, or Jalen Harris could be in this offense.
The TE just running 8-12 yards down the seam and turning and sitting in the zone behind the LBers has been absolute money for the offense this year. It's amazing watching the routes and being able to see actual concepts and why the guys out in routes are doing what they're doing. As opposed to 4 verts and throwing the ball away half the time.

It's early on though and he's got a lot of development in front of him. If this is his floor, I have high hopes for his ceiling.
