The players say he is old school and works the legs hard. They all seem to believe he is a good S&C and don't believe he is the weak link.

Fire Yox.

Hire the Governator.

He can bring his illegitimate child.

Problem solved.

Sometimes a change isn't a bad thing... and it doesn't always mean the guy getting replaced isn't good at what he does.... but sometimes a different attitude/perspective/opinion can help motivate.

but be careful what you wish for... we could do a whole lot worse than Yoxall, i'd imagine.

I don't think Yox is the problem. We don't get a push on offense because our 2 experienced OL(the Grinders were the only legit D1 school to offer Slade and Sullens next best offer was Duke) just aren't that talented and the others are in their 1st and 2nd years in the program. Look around the league and see how many 1st and 2nd year players are getting playing time. This problem is compounded by switching offensive styles that puts even more of a premium on having a strong group up front.

Defensively we have a bunch of DT's that we recruited and developed to eat blockers to free up the LB's and are asking them to forget all of that and get up field and be disruptive. Our coaches decided to have them lose some weight and sacrifice a little strength in order to gain quickness and it just hasn't worked out.

I know I'm most likely this boards biggest/only apologist but I just don't see how you can pin any of that on Yox.

I get the argument that you can't make kids workout, however it seems (note is said seems) that most of the big time teams right now do a better job of getting their guys bigger and faster. Now, can technique have something to do with that? Absolutely. However, as good as Yox is, it is hard to say our teams are physically the same as they were 8 years ago. Maybe his methods just aren't doing it for this generation of player.

So to all you here saying Yox is a very good SC coach, you are right. To us saying he isnt getti g it done right now, it is hard to argue otherwise.

Agree, I'm not saying he is for sure the problem, but we do seem very weak.

Could be a combination of, Yox may need to update some methods & Pelton blows as a coach. The D line is where we really get owned.

Like someone posted, You see some guys like Mason (and even young guys like Holsey)who have really bulked up due to obvious hard work and you also see others who haven't.

Exactly. Guys like Dee Ford work out on their own all the time. I saw him at Gold's every time I went. Either teams like Bama and LSU have entire teams that workout on their own infinitely more than us, or their S&C program is doing something better.

It's the shitty players we have, darren bates is 5'10" and knocks people the frick out (not a shitty player) cass mckinzy is a freshman and played very physical (not a shitty player) while whitaker and craig sanders get manhandled all day (shitty players)

It is the culture of our program right now. Too many entitled, highly touted, whiny children and not enough hungry athletes. LSU, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, ETC., have done well in recent years recruiting at a high level while also bringing in kids that commit themselves to the game.

We have too many divas right now and if we change coaches I think we're not going to find ourselves surprised by the names of the guys that choose to play elsewhere.

I am ready for a complete house cleaning from JJ down to the guy who unclogs the toilets. So yes, I believe Yox falls into this category.

All of this covers our problems perfectly.
