Apart from prowling for coeds on the reg, he was involved with a very prominent booster’s wife.

We hired Lance Thompson and he used to sleep with recruits' mothers

Not sure why someone would be worried about this. Especially since Kiffin would probably be prowlin' the ATL area, not Auburn

Assistant vs. Head coach is the difference imo.

I’m just saying I would be shocked if he is ever the HC at Auburn.

If it happens I’ll be happy to say I’m wrong. If it happens and blows up in our faces, I and probably everyone from his previous stops will say I told you so.

I'm not that concerned about Lane sleeping around

I'm concerned that Lane may be an overgrown child asked to run what is essentially a business

Did he learn under Saban? I hope so, but there was chaos at the time of his exit and he followed it up by taking snarky shots on Twitter, so I'm not quite convinced he's got it figured out

Thanks to Gus, the threshold for my acceptance of any candidate is low. I will probably come to my senses when some fan is at an airport screaming at the new hire and it will be too late. Until then I’ll be like a drunk chick on Bourban St offering the goods to anyone everyone. My God I love coaching search. We getting Belichick bishes

What do you guys see in Clark that he’s so favored? Tough & disciplined? I get that, but he seems like a defensive version of Malzahn. Both were very successful in the high school ranks. Both went on to college coordinator jobs. Both then landed a HC job at a small university for a year before landing HC jobs at a larger university. His results as HC are even similar to Malzahns. I just don’t think he’s a step up from CGM. I could be wrong of course. But I’d rather take a chance on a hot coordinator name.

As someone that lives in Bham and is close to several people that raised the money to save the program, Bill Clark is nothing like Gus. Clark, along with that group of fundraisers, brought UAB football back. Clark is very impressive and comfortable among those people and is phenomenal one on one.

I have also had a couple of chances to be around Gus and see Gus in the same type atmosphere and he wasn't comfortable or good. He's very much an introvert. I ended up talking with his wife the whole night instead. This dinner took place in between 2014 and 2015, when expectations were high. That night is the night I turned sour on Gus. When you see who all was at that table you would be have been dumbfounded and shocked as I was that he just sat there and stared at his food and occasionally talked when prompted. Table:
Ever43 and wife
Tim and Michelle Jackson
Raymond Harbert, his son, and his son's girlfriend
Yella Fella
Gus and Kristi

With that said, and as much as I am impressed with Bill Clark, I don't think he's the right fit for AU at this time.

I now expect you to be our insider source if you are sitting at a table like that

If you give us HC search updates, I'll forgive you for holding out on us

Just heard a very prominent booster talk tonight about a top target if Gus is fired being Will Muschamp

I really like Muschamp, but I'd be disappointed AF paying an absurd amount of $ just to end up with him

Me too... He would have to ditch Kurt Roper though. Muschamp with somebody like Matt Canada or Jake Spavital as OC might be pretty fun.

Muschamp Island is staying put. Your booster is retarded.

Muschamp is a glorified assistant, at best. Florida was a shitshow under him, and he won't have any success at USCe.

Agreed. No one said our influential boosters were smart

He was just talking about options and talked about Muschamp as if he will be a serious candidate

I'd rather just roll the dice with TWill than hire Muschamp

Bill Clark, UAB
Matt Campbell, Iowa State
Jeff Brohm, Purdue
Mike Leach, Wazzu
Bryan Harsin, Boise State
Neal Brown, Troy

Any one of them is head and shoulders more competent, professional, and a better coach than Gus and those are all realistic attainable options.
