Taylor was ranked as an athlete and still not in top 10.
So only around 2002 did we have 2 top 10 WRs signed in the last 25 years?
I think the poster's point is correct, but we know that most WRs are developed at the college level bc so many of them play multiple positions in HS or definitely may have been a QB.
Our WR recruiting though has been spotty over the years.
And it is players like Seth Williams and I am sure some can name a lot more that simply emerged as quality WRs even though they were not ranked very high nationally.

What about the year we signed Kyle Davis, NCM and Eli Stone?

Auburn getting another commit today?

It is the Auburn poster thing to do to ignore facts.

KN predicted 5* CB Koolaid to Auburn.
Which is significant because Auburn never gets 5* CBs.

A Mississippi State recruiting guy CB’d him to AU earlier this morning as well.
KN’s write didn’t indicate a decision was imminent but is something that seems like it could happen at any time now

So is there buzz that Koolaid may be on the verge of a commitment (not necessarily to AU). Has he set a date or anything?
Edit: Jones answered my question as I was typing it. Thanks

I was just reminiscing on our WRs at that point. Probably the most solid our WRs have ever been.

We get plenty of WRs ranked high nationally. I don’t know why y’all are acting like these guys aren’t.
Kobe Hudson 4 star rated 95 #111 in the nation
Ze’vian Capers 4 star rated 94 #132
JJ Evans 4 star rated 93 #167
Matthew Hill 4 star rated 96 #92
Anthony Schwartz 4 star rated 93 #163 in the nation
Seth Williams 4 star rated 93 #185
Nate Craig Meyers 4 star rated 98 #45
Kyle Davis 4 star rated 96 #75
Eli Stove 4 star rated 94 #124
That’s 3 top 100 guys. 6 top 150 guys. 9 top 200 guys in the past 4 classes

Do yall remember Prechea Rodriguez?
Posted on 8/15/20 at 1:36 pm to Weagle25
Eli Stove would’ve been rated much higher too if 247 didn’t screw him and send him from top 100 to out of top 247 at the last minute.

Kamari Lassiter has moved his commitment date back.
Was scheduled for August 22nd...

I vaguely remember him. Don’t even remember what era he played in. Did he play with Ben Tate?

My first memory is his fumble in the 2005 IB (honk if you sacked Brodie) game. That fumble (which led to a bama score) kept them in the game. They would have quit if we scored instead of fumbled. It was a domination non-the-less, but for some reason that final score always bothered me.

Prechae caught the crucial TD in Tuscaloosa 06 Thumb Game

Jump ball in the back left corner of the end zone, IIRC.

Sounds familiar. 2004 for me. It made no sense why they were in the game for so long.
I had a frustration before 2017 that we couldn’t dominate Bama on the scoreboard. I think before that 2017 game we hadn’t won by >10 since like 1969. 2017 was no 49-0 shellacking but I enjoyed winning by 12 points with dominance, not flukes nor comebacks.

Didn't say we don't get quality receivers.
The poster was asking if we ever got TOP 10 WRs. Over the last 25 years the answer is no except for around 2002.
Kobe Hudson 19th
Ze’vian Capers 31st
JJ Evans 29th
Matthew Hill 17th
Anthony Schwartz 30th
Seth Williams 35th

We get good quality receivers. Just not the George Pickens rare breed kind.

Maybe that will change if Bo lives up to his potential and our offense doesn't hold him back
