I wonder what the percentages are when players change their announcing dates?

Do they stick with the previous leaning or do they suddenly change their choice after the date change announcement?

Lassiter, was he a high percentage Auburn lean? If so, hard to believe he would change his mind after one poor game at GA.

3* LB Trevin Wallace picked up a UT offer and is being recruited by UGA now too. 247 expect him to be a major riser in their next rankings update. They say he’s dominating at LB

Auburn offered back in the Spring and has been on him longer than anyone

He does that about twice a year.

Crystal Ball trends for Auburn targets

Trevin Wallace, LB, Jesup (Ga.) Wayne County: There are no Crystal Ball picks for Wallace, a high 3-star recruit currently committed to Boston College. But with Auburn pushing hard, you could see predictions for the Tigers begin to come in at some point. That said, South Carolina has recruited him hard. Now, Tennessee has offered and Georgia continues to talk to him. Also, he’s a lifelong Florida fan, but the Gators haven’t yet offered. In other words, there will be competition to land him.

Wallace, who may be on the verge of gaining a fourth star, is a take for Auburn and is having a big senior year.

Because on-campus recruiting is suspended until Jan. 1, Wallace has not visited Boston College. But … he hasn’t visited Auburn yet either.

With both schools, he has had really good virtual visits.

“Man, I’m telling you, the (Auburn virtual visit) was amazing,” Wallace said. “Same with Boston College. They were amazing, too.”

Auburn has a real shot to get a flip here.

Jeremiah Williams, DE/LB, Birmingham (Ala.) Ramsay: Williams, a 4-star buck, was supposed to announce his commitment Oct. 10 and multiple sources say Auburn was to be his choice. But as that date approached, he cancelled those plans and now the Tigers are trying to fight off Georgia. You’ll recall that at one time Florida was Auburn’s biggest competition. 

While people have speculated Georgia made its move after the Dawgs beat Auburn earlier this month, the fact is the two sides communicated a lot before that game. Could Auburn still land Williams? Yes. In fact, some in the Tigers’ camp still think he ultimately will pick Auburn.

But it must be concerning to say the least the Tigers are having to fight so hard here. It sounds like both the Tigers and Dawgs think Williams may ride this out until December.

Smael Mondon, LB, Dallas (Ga.) Paulding County: All eight Crystal Ball picks are for Georgia, but could the 5-star backer land at Auburn? It's possible but lately there has been a lot more chatter about the Bulldogs than the Tigers.

Led by the efforts of linebackers coach Travis Williams, Auburn continues to battle. Mondon said this about Williams earlier this season: "“He’s just somebody that’s going to coach you. Someone that’s going to coach you up. Someone that’s going to love you but coach you hard, too. We’ve got a good relationship.”

That he has connected so well with Williams and the rest of the Auburn staff on a personal level gives the Tigers a fighting chance. But it does feel as though Georgia is trending some at the moment. As for a decision timeframe, Mondon has nothing set at the moment but the feeling is it will happen this fall.

He's a December graduate.

At Georgia, there is a feeling that the longer this goes on the better it may be for the Bulldogs.

Xavian Sorey, LB, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy:  Alabama has the Crystal Ball lead -- but Florida and Georgia probably are the two programs to watch at this time. Sorey's relationship with Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart could be the difference in the end but don't count out the Gators. His former school (Graceville, Fla.) produced Florida legend Neal Anderson and the Gators have made this interesting. As for Auburn, the Tigers seem to have slipped some. Ga'Quincy McKinstry, CB/WR, Pinson Valley (Ala.): Auburn holds a slim Crystal Ball lead and not that long ago many thought the Tigers were trending. But a couple weeks back, we started to hear more and more about Alabama. In fact, there is said to some be confidence in Tuscaloosa right now. At Auburn, though, most continue to think the Tigers are right there and have a legitimate chance. Could McKinstry be telling both programs what they want to hear? It’s possible.

He plans to announce his commit decision Oct. 25.

The Crystal Ball currently favors Auburn but given the buzz out there don’t be surprised if that shifts toward the Tide. 

McKinstry wants to play basketball in college, and each of his leaders tell him he can. Auburn now is selling McKinstry on the idea he also could get snaps at receiver -- not just on defense -- and we've heard that is pretty appealing to him. Auburn also has shown McKinstry that it badly wants him in both sports. Could Tigers basketball coach Bruce Pearl, who has gotten heavily involved, be the X-factor.

Nyland Green, CB, Covington (Ga.) Newton: There hasn't been any Crystal Ball movement with Green in months. Clemson is the Crystal Ball favorite for the 4-star corner, but at last check it was Georgia that seemed to be trending so don’t be surprised if the picks start coming in for the Dawgs soon. Auburn and Tennessee are two others in the hunt. Could Green's close relationship with Tigers defensive tackle Deandre Butler help Auburn out here? There are many variables with this recruitment but the bottom line is this: Auburn continues to recruit him extremely hard. Kamari Lassiter, CB, Tuscaloosa (Ala.) American Christian: The 3-star corner was expected to announce his decision Aug. 22. At that time, he seemed to be Auburn bound. But then Lassiter delayed things and this appears to now be a three-school race between Auburn, Clemson and Georgia. Now, we think a decision will come by the end of this month.

As of today, there is no clear-cut favorite and our intel suggests Lassiter is torn.

Auburn and Georgia are taking large corner classes. Clemson may only sign one. At Auburn there is some optimism the staff's relationship with Lassiter ultimately will be the difference. The Tigers got in on him early and have been with Lassiter for the whole ride.

Only one pick has been made and it is for Auburn.
