Nah Urban was great and all at Ohio State but I really doubt he carries much clout after ESPN pretty buried him over groping one of his groupie milfs. The optics didn’t seem that bad despite the witch hunt which makes me think he is toast

ESPN buried Saban when he stepped over an injured player during practice. How’d that work out?

Not really lol.

A mere lap dance literally got Urban fired.

Yeah, it had nothing to do with the jags being absolute dog crap under him. Saban, Spurrier, Myer, those guys just weren’t cut out for the NFL.

Deion > Urban

That’s just how it is.

Urban has the taint in other areas than the finger.

Bro, Deon is better than a guy that has won everywhere he’s went with multiple NCs? I was just joking about Meyer being the next coach, but come on man.

I started joking about this a year ago but am now 100% behind the Coach Prime movement. This program is so desperate for some kind of spark. It's as dead as it has ever been in my 40 years on this earth.

Sure, but if you're not a recruiter you can't win at this level. We know he can do the most important thing best, why not let him see if he can also hire competent assistants and let them do their thing?

It's not like there is some sure fire success out there that we could reasonably get. When competing with Saban, Kirby, and sadly now Dabo we need somebody that can get kids excited about Auburn or we're not going anywhere for a loooong time.

It’s important people understand there is no sure fire success option period (other than Saban)

-There was no guarantee Kirby wouldn’t just be another Muschamp
-Beliema was great at Wisconsin, trash at Arkansas
-Orgeron and Chizik were trash coaches who still won a natty
-Chad Morris was the hot up and comer, was in fact one of the worst head coaches of post SEC expansion era
-Muschamp essentially had his choice as HC for the two of the biggest programs of the aughts, ended up being garbage
-Dabo was just a dumbass WR coach turned interim stopgap turned typical Clemson coach, then out of nowhere he became a 2nd best in the game
-Jimbo was great, then he sucked, then he was good, now he sucks again
-Sam Pittman was on no one’s radar
-Jim Harbaugh was the next big thing and then took half a decade to beat his biggest rival
-Any Texas coach’s expectations vs reality
-Scott Frost

It’s a total crapshoot, there is no formula for success. Dave Aranda could come here and be awful, Kevin Steele could take us to a natty (just to highlight two coaches from Baylor).

Best you can do is hire someone who can recruit, and fits the culture (which Arkansas absolutely nailed with Pittman) and cross your fingers. (Note that Harsin is 0 for 2 on these criteria)

This alone would give me hope for Garner.

No one still above the ground knows AU as well as Rodney G. And he was still a solid recruiter for us under Gustav.

That would be like Bama hiring Sylvester Croom after Mike Shula.

No thanks

You could add Frost from great, hottest coach, Nebraska legacy from UCF to Nebraska

Prime is not going to work with our President, Adminstration, ADRM, some boosters. May work but a risk. It will not happen.

One requirement for me, they must have coached in the SEC, even as a position coach (Arkie).

He lasted like 6 weeks or more after that.

Pretty sure it was the report about him kicking his injured kicker in the injured leg that got him fired by daddy Khan

He definitely wasn’t injured and who doesn’t want to kick the kicker?

Croom, who prior to getting the MSU gig in ‘04 had spent the previous 17 years as an NFL assistant?

As opposed to Garner, who’s been in the SEC as a player and a coach for 38 consecutive seasons?

Really sounds like Urban may go to Nebraska.

He is there at the game today. Felt like he was there on a interview. LOL.
