Do you call this season a wash?

Yes. Actually a resounding success - 10 win season with a brutal schedule.

A wash? I'd call it highly successful.

Is our goal to win championships, or keep others from winning championships?

10 win season with home wins against Alabama and UGA is a success.

10-2 with that schedule would probably finish in the top 5. It would be a damn good season.

I would feel very satisfied ending on a high note, but I'm afraid I'm never gonna get the UF & LSU bad taste out of my mouth..

Why? Florida L maybe a bit tough to swallow cause I think we are better, but this LSU team is really, really good.

I would also like to see a nice post-season win. Gus has struggled in the post-season.

Championships. However you have to shift those goals at some point.

9-3 is fine. I'm tough on Gus but that's fine. This was a hard year, a freshman QB, all the excuses you're going to hear regardless of the outcome, etc. Those excuses are legitimate, to an extent. The problem is when they're used every season.

If we beat UGA and don't get obliterated by Bama, and then go on to win a bowl and get 10 wins, that's exactly the kind of "middle" year I want from Gus. It's not a championship run but it's not a rebuilding year either. I want our rebuilding years to look like last year and our good/not elite years to look like a potential 10-3 year this year.

I can get excited and on the bus for non-championship years where we beat a rival or 3, win a big neutral site game, win a big bowl game, etc. I tell people all the time that us Gus-doubters aren't ridiculous, but if 9-3 with this schedule and a potential for 10 wins isn't acceptable for us, it kind of proves the posibarners' point.

Yes. But I want Greene to call bullshite to the SEC schedule. Like pitch a fit until something is done. We played Bama/UGA/UF/LSU this year. UGA/Bama specifically gets to hide for 7-8 games and gear up for a playoff run. We have to fight for every inch.

@ Top 10 Florida
@ Top 10 LSU

vs Top 10 UGA
vs Top 10 Bama

going 2-2 with that gauntlet ill say it's a decent season.
Let's be honest, with a freshmen QB we knew we were not playing for a championship. Just wish we could keep this defense next year and I would say we would then.

Problem is that we shouldn’t be playing with a freshman QB

Decent is underselling it. It would mean we are one of the best 5-6 teams in the game. Not gonna happen, but still.

Edit to say: probably one of best 2-3 teams in the game, actually. Even if it wouldn't put us in the playoff.

Why? We just lost an upperclassman. Very difficult to stack talented QBs.

Expecting championships with our schedule is absurd. Now it's great to have championships be the goal, but setting championships as the expectation is just plain dumb.

Like it's great that you want your kid to get a full scholarship to Harvard, but it's ridiculous for you to throw him on the street if he only gets a full scholarship to Duke instead.
