Dude, let them keep with their thinking. It helps them get over it.

There is no room for logic in the fire Gus threads.... The same straight runs is pretty much what beat UGA and they loved it.

I wonder how many here still hate the Wildcat totally? Has been pretty effective lately. Running from it, jet sweeps off it and of course, that beautiful KJ jump pass last night

It's amazing how a little eye candy mixed with execution and everyone thinks we are running a different O. We also ran trick plays against bama and uga, but they worked so nobody is calling him "high school" for it.

I too will gladly eat some crow for my opinion of Gus. It seems like he has turned a corner mentally in his preparation and execution during big games.

It goes back to the old saying, its only bad when it doesnt work...

This team is just playing better football right now. I still dont buy in to the idea that some major change happened with Gus.

The players are playing so much better at everything right now. Its the reason for our resurgence.... Blocking, tackling, catching passes, not making penalties, etc.

some play calling for sure but overall, we are just playing some good football right now. Disciplined football.

Coaches are all now on the same page so all coaches are coaching much better. Lots of finger pointing earlier in the year. This is why everything is now working.

Anyone will tell you it is easier to call plays when the base stuff is working.

Even the players have talked about Gus' new attitude and being looser. He had an ephinany of some sort and it shows.

Absolutely the team has come together, but it's pretty clear Gus has had a change in philosophy in the his role as HC.

I don't see what everyone keeps saying...he seems a bit edgy. Like he finally decided to stop pretending like all the numb nuts surrounding him know more about football than he does. Never forget JJ and his clan worked behind the scenes to prevent him from hiring Chip, thankfully Gus out flanked those idiots.

I suspect there is a small part of him who wants to go to arkie to stick it to JJ and the PTB who have been acting like people on this board for 3 seasons while ignoring that the ship was crap when he arrived and depth was a huge issue. Thankfully he is smart enough to know those same characters would be at arkie when trouble arose.

It’s just football and everyone should always wait until the season plays out and enjoy it. The negative stuff during the year sucks. You only have so many seasons. This has been a hell of a ride. Not over yet.

I will help you out a little.

Unless of course Gus isn't a reliable source.

I always preferred Gus to right the ship & everyone ends up living happily ever after, especially in light of the offseason coaching shite-show we're witnessing. However, if he had laid another egg against UGA and/or Bama, I would've been convinced he'd plateaued as a HC at Auburn.

But IMO he seemingly had a "come to Jesus" moment after LSU, and we've been witnessing the results since then. Whatever happened, I hope he doesn't forget it...

I didn't say I don't see change. I just see it differently. I don't think Gus went home and said the fans, JJ and some of our boosters who don't know football are right. I think he went home and said I am tired of doing it their way and went back to doing what he does best.

I never said it was due to fans or JJ, or anyone else. Like I said earlier, he had an ephinany and I don't care why.

I am with you there. I have said it numerous times........If Gus ever figures out how to be a college HC, I would rather have him on my sideline than the other.

Gus still needs to prove he can win a meaningful bowl game

Yea, we dont want to lose bowl games but to just keep putting these barriers in front of him just proves you are looking for something to bitch about.

First it was the UGA barrier, then the bama barrier, next it will be the bowl game barrier then the perfect season barrier then etc, etc etc

Gus Malzahn can coach. He is a very good coach and in some form or fashion is a great offensive mind. is he perfect? frick no. But no coach is. Look at what happened to Saban and Alabama Saturday night with 10000 blue chip recruits on the sidelines.

In a way, Gus Malzahn is the perfect coach for Auburn and matches our history perfectly. He is a quirky bitch whose performance is up and down. Goes from Hero to heel and back to hero is a blink of an eye

I like Gus and want him to be successful at Auburn

Well said Lanier. Good grief, some people need to get out in the sun, get some endorphins cranked, get laid or something. Constant freaking whining and bitching.

Gus is our coach - not our enemy.
