1. It is a fact that you are speculating. You have no idea what anyone's record would be playing another schedule.
Tell me which one of Texas’ wins would have beaten us? This is not a stretch.

2. I don't really care what Missouri and Vanderbilt are doing or who they are playing. That's not the level I want Auburn to be at. I care that our offense is a complete embarrassment and somehow getting worse.
Okay. What about Texas? What about LSU? What teams that they beat would have beaten Auburn this season?

That's actually a valid point. Hiring a new coach is risky. I don't trust the PTB to make a decent hire.

What is your point? Would you feel better if we played all FCS teams so far and masked our ineptness (although South Alabama kinda exposed us)?
You are boiling this down to two games when it has been a recurring pattern for 2.5 years.
Everyone was still kind of on board after Oklahoma due to the officiating and the fact that maybe their defense was just that good. Yesterday officials kept us in the game all day and Texas AM defense is mid and we were considerably worse.
17 sacks in two games and probably a similar of number of penalties, complete abandonment of the running game, a complete inability to use the middle of the field, a coach with ZERO answers.

No, it's not. It's like being on fire and standing by a lake with a crocodile in it. Yes, if you jump in the croc may get you but if you do nothing you are 100% going to burn to death slowly.

We had ZERO production in the current head coach's area of "expertise."
There is nothing but upside.

Your analogy is spot on. We are screwed either way.
If we will send Lane Kiffin flowers we can at least be sure to lose with copious amounts of points scored.

Bryan Harsin was basically winning the same rate of games we are winning now, except at least with him we knew that we had no talent and his coaching staff of BSU retreads.
This is actually worse because we look like dogshit despite the fact that we theoretically have talent.

Sometimes Eric Singleton looks like Tyreek Hill and we can't even get him the ball

ESPN FPI ranking by season:
2022: #42
2023: #34
2024: #31
2025: #23 (currently)
This is meaningless.

That was the most pathetic offensive performance since 2012. It is doubly bad because the talent is much improved.
Freeze has no energy.

Harsin is 10x the play caller Hugh is.

Look man I love the optimism but if nothing changes on offense we might go 0-fer in the SEC. I wouldn't bet a dollar that we beat Kentucky rn. And I have zero reason to believe anything changes on offense. If he goes to Daniels I will be very cautiously optimistic again but if he's gonna try to win the rest of our games with Jackson's arm I wish he would just tell us rn so I can do something else with my Saturdays.

This x 100. Harsin was a better game day coach than Hugh no doubt. Time to lose the Malzahn offensive influence that the program has been running into the ground since 2009. Hugh is Gus without being on the spectrum. Hugh may be the dumbest individual we have ever had as a coach. Why Hugh and Thornton (or any of the O staff) are employed today is unfortunate for AU, its Alumni and fans.

This defense could pitch a shutout and the offense would still lose on a safety.

This isn't true. The team he inherited had talent, they just left because Harsin was an a-hole.

This is the go to talking point now for Hugh apologists. They know they were wrong in thinking the hire was good but cannot quite own it yet.
So who of the options would have been better? Deion? LOL.

I never wanted to be here in the first place. The loudest anti-Freeze arsonists are the same ones who were screaming to fire Gus no matter what.
The, “Anyone would be better than Gus!” crowd got us Harsin and quickly realized they were full of shite. Now those same people are the ones screaming, “Anyone would be better than Hugh!” and asking us to go along with their destruction once again.
My motto since 2020 has been consistent: WHAT IS YOUR PLAN?
If you are asking us to fire another coach, pay another buyout, and just hope to God our administration and boosters are competent enough to hire someone decent, no the F thanks!
Tell me who we are going to go get and maybe I can get on board… but until then, just shut the F up and support the team. You’re part of the problem.

Yes supporting complete incompetence is the answer.

No, you wanted to be sitting at 6-7 wins a year and watching the empty seats at Jordan Hare grow every year.
Harsin was stupid vetting and a stupid decision. He was not the best decision, he wasn't all we could get, he was a knee-jerk bout of idiocy by an AD determined to push his weight around and it got him run off.
Freeze was also a poorly considered hire, made in panic when Kiffen played us like a fiddle. But that doesn't mean that there isn't a better way to go about a coaching search, a better option out there who can build a winning staff and program and it doesn't mean fans have or should have the answers. But I would really like to understand your logic on how you felt Malzahn or Freeze were going to suddenly turn around very definite negative trends.
Freeze isn't getting fired yet, so it's not like the season isn't going to play out. And yeah, Arkansas and UK's defenses might be bad enough where we can just QB scramble our way to victory like we did in Waco. That's not making us better, it's just finding our place in the pecking order of the most mediocre. And Auburn spends and charges too much money for their product to just settle for that.
