Minimal shoes. Basically, it’s barefoot running.

I average 25ish miles per week running but its been some time since I've run full out. When's the last time you've done that, Boceephus?

Speaking personally, It's been a while since I've run full out. I'm sore and it will be worse tomorrow. I'm mid 40's. I may consider steroids or HGH if anyone wants to get me up to speed.

If you stepped on a rock with those Xeros would you feel it?

Absolutely. That’s the point of the shoes. Ground feel. Your feet were designed to feel the ground. It’s why they have the third most nerve endings on your body.

It’s taken me a while to get here. Even today, my feet are a little sore. 16 miles barefoot. But it’s strengthening my feet. I highly recommend reading the book Born to Run.

Part of my driveway is gravel. You weren’t designed to run with carbon plate shoes or pillows on your feet.

My feet don’t want stone bruises bro. I know stone bruises.

I did sports. ROTC. Boot camp. Deployment. Etc. I know running.

My feet crave Asics when I run.

Full out? Hmmm. Maybe during flag football or softball, but that isn’t a constant thing like sprints. I couldn’t really tell you, TBH.

I changed shoes with time and age. I liked lightweight Saucony shoes when I actually ran. They treated me well in 8 Ironman marathons. But I run in cushioned Hokas on a treadmill at this point. Lol. No real running since 2008.

That’s pretty soft for Summer training.

That was just getting back started after the summer weight/workout program. We would come back early June and get back into shape, then do 2 weeks of two-a-days, then a week of three-a-days.

We took springs and summers to really hit the weight room. This was just the start of the mandatory conditioning before preseason camp. It got way tougher, but being "out of shape" from the final spring practices it really, really sucked to get started again.

In baseball, we had to run foul poles.

Right there with you. We always had football spring training during baseball season. For some reason that I forget now, the baseball coach was pissed about something and made us run poles after football and baseball practice (for those that played both) until every single person puked.

One of our guys was a cross country runner as well and he made everyone else suffer until he finally puked a.little after 9pm. Had to be one of the worst conditioning/punishment experiences I ever had playing sports.

Ive been lifting weights and doing cardio religiously for two years. I started yoga 6 months ago and the difference it has made in that short time is mind-blowing. I can do things athletically that I couldn't do at 30.

I run flat out at least once a week. Usually hill repeats at HR 186+. Again, I’ll be 49 soon.

My "flat out" speed was always a LSD pace for most. Hence my lean towards long events. Throw in some swimming to level out some of those fast dudes.

Long slow distance is not in the context of what we are talking about. If your LSD heart rate is 180+ you are an alien. Give me some of those drugs.

Did 6 miles on the local high school track today. Barefoot. HR134. Easy miles.
