Has our athletic department ever had a better outlook than now?

It seems like we have so much upside, hopefully our football team will continue to trend upwards, Bruce is gonna Bruce, it will just take time. Gymnastics, softball, swimming, golf, we look like we are in great shape to compete in all of these. What do guys think?

Jacobs is the greatest AD in the country

Women's basketball seems in good shape. They are competing.

I can't name one area of our ad that's in shambles or is trending down.

I think this is quite the overreaction. Just 2 months ago we were lambasting the entire athletic program saying it was in the worst positions it's ever been in, and many people (myself included) wanted Jacobs's head on a stick. A few football wins and that changes it? I'm not so sure. I do think we are poised to be good in many sports like football, basketball, and softball among others.

Why do we hate JJ again?

I think that was the consensus because our football team was in shambles. The rest of our athletic department was and is solidly going in the right direction.

Because he is the worst AD in the nation. Next question.

I agree, the department's future is bright now that we're about to get a president who might actually can the clown in charge

I just don't get the reasoning behind it, lately he's made some really good moves to make our AD very competitive in all aspects. Gus hasn't been doing a great job the past couple of seasons, but he's really trying to turn things around with a different approach. I admit, giving Gus a contract extension at the beginning of the season was dumb, but besides that I can't see many wrong moves lately.

Track & field and cross country are garbage. Bottom of the SEC.

Jay Jacobs is a waste product.
Over the last 10 years, if considering all major sports, Auburn is last in wins against SEC competition. Jacobs did well with hiring Pearl and Clint Meyers. Jury is out still on Gus.
Other than the fricking Mega TV in the stadium, I cant think of anothr thing Jacobs has done. Frick that guy.

I'll give the ole hick moron credit for the Auburn Arena.
Cant give him credit for the big t.v. because those that sit under it are still disserviced by it. Even more so now than previous. We need a screen on the other side for those people.

Yes.
mid-late 80's we had Dye, Sonny Smith, Hal Baird, and Joe Ciampi.
We were good in every sport except hockey.
