He’s gotten the pink slip already. No other reason in the world for those with our offense. He knows he’s done, and sadly his apathy cost us a game tonight

I don’t think Carlson is hitting those field goals. He does not have the range he used to. Still dumb going for them. Punt and pin them deep.

Carlson has not hit consistently from that long range for the last two years. He isn’t money but it was still a bad decision to go for it. Agree with crazy, pin them deep and let your defense go to work and try again.

I'll play Devil's Advocate.

We signed him to a multi-year, mult-million dollar contract. After the 1st was barely over, our board publicy embraced an internet-based rumor about a sex scandal with a subordinate. It played out for a while, making the news, before they finally absolved him of any wrong doing. His reputation was tarnished at that point, where people are still bringing it up, and the subordinates name, almost daily. I have no idea how it affected recruiting, or the ability to hire assistants, but I imagine it was detrimental.

Now he looks to get paid $15 Million if he gets fired. When he does, and collects his check, what do you think he is going to say about his former employer? Do you think that people outside of Auburn will find him sympathetic, or question his coaching?

As much as I don't think he was the right fit for Auburn, what was done to him was absolutely egregious, and I don't think I would be able to hide my apathy either. Our administration did not circle the wagons as you would expect. They signed off on the hire, had buyer's remorse, and looked for an easy out. Hell, they lauded AD Greene for 3 year, then, out of the blue, cut him loose right before the season started. The writing was on the wall.

He was a dead man walking back in the Spring. We knew it, the administration knew it, the national media knew it, and the recruits knew it. Yet we all come on a internet forum and bitch about his recruiting and coordinators.

What Hugh did has been proven.

How in the hell can he sell recruits and their families with a straight face?

He did not understand SEC recruiting and we sucjed last year also. His record and offense is what is hurting us. We did not help, but he does not know how to recruit the south.

Incorrect. Our AD investigated claims made by coaches on staff and personnel working inside the AD that were also being fueled by comments made by players who were transferring and they had valid reasons to do so.

When your well respected DC makes a very public job move for less money at a lesser program and there is obvious turmoil with players exiting in droves its the ADs responsibility to ask questions as to why this is happening.

What happens on internet boards and at the BOT/AD level are not the same and the BOT doesn’t react to things being said on the Rant, etc. They can’t control the crap that gets posted on random anonymous forums.

Im sorry, I simply refuse to accept quiet quitting in a field that is driven by ambition and success.

Harsin can either leave or perform. That’s his choice.

I am not defending his abilities, or lack of. I'm simply saying that his employer amplified the difficulties of doing his job. Again, if I knew I had a $15 million payday coming when I was fired, and my employers did what they did, hurting my professional reputation and possibly bringing undue stress into my marriage, I don't think I would have handled as well as he has.

Y'all wouldn't have to question my apathy. I suspect he will walk away with more than what is called for in his contract, along with an NDA, to keep him from going scorched Earth after he's fired.

What did his employee do? We investigated as we were required to do. The rest was message boards and media.

You Harsin Stans sure are dumb. Now it’s becoming apparent you would want to bomb Auburn with your Bill Clark and BOB choices for mercilessly firing your martyr and hero.

Former employees and players transferring out, sometimes have an ax to grind. There was no reason to make this "investigation" public. Weird that you say "valid reasons to do so", considering that ultimately the accusations were found to be baseless. The media loves a scandal, and the perception is that our administration did him no favors in the way this was handled.

Let's face it. They screwed up with Malzahn's extension, then they screwed up with the last hire, and was looking for a way out without having to honor Harsin's buyout. That blew up in their faces, so they had to make Greene the scapegoat.

Harsin was sucking at his job well before the AD decided to take a peek into what was happening inside his program.

Auburn’s BOT, AD, boosters, etc are paying for this shitshow yet they get eviscerated for raising concerns and asking questions about what the man they are paying over $5M PER YEAR is doing to the program.

Its the low hanging fruit for those who just can’t admit that Harsin is a square peg in a round hole at Auburn.

His employer left him to fend for himself when the media called him a racist adulterer with zero evidence. FFS bro - they tried to cancel him over lies. Hell they may have canceled him over lies. The fact nobody really knows who said all this stuff is about as F’d up as can be. Some of you believe all of it was true. His employer has been silent except for ‘investigating’.

Good morning....
Me again...
My reply is not intended to seem like I am trying to be someone important like some of you think.
As stated yesterday my contacts are the Sunday morning campus cleaning crew. They know everything!!!!
Coach Freeze tells the recruits and their families exactly what he has told HS coaches since he got back in to coaching.
The TRUTH!
He is straight forward, honest and tells what did, why he did it and how it happened.
As a society we are quick to condem and sit in judgement instead of forgiving like a certain book days. Most of us have so many skeleton's hid yet profess to be something we are not.
Freeze is genuine, remorseful and honest about his mistakes. How many of us can say the same!
He may not come to Auburn but he is a man on a mission to clear his name and prove himself. Solid contacts with Georgia High School.
Whoever gets him will get a damn good, determined coach.
He went missing from the Liberty campus for one week this past February. Nobody knew where he was. He was packed and waiting on a phone call that unfortunately never came.
Scoff and downvote all you care to my fellow Aubies!

If that's the case, then you admit your mistake, fire him, a pay the contract. Then deal with the blowback of firing a HC in his first year and not giving him time.

Instead, we went another route and the blowback from that may be much, much worse.
