I am not defending Harsin's ability to coach football, or run a program. I am simply saying, the way our administration handled that bullshite accusation, made his job a lot harder to accomplish.
You don't hire a guy to get you out of hole, throw someone in the hole to keep digging, then fire him because you are still in a hole.
If you are very disappointed in the next hire, you might want to consider that good coaches with bright futures aren't willing to take a career risk at a place that becoming known for shite like this. Go all the way back to Tubs and Jetgate and our Revolving door of university presidents.
We are most likely about to hire a coach, that was paying players and buying hookers for recruits. That's what we are reduced to, because our leadership at the top has sucked so bad, we have to go to the Mountain West to find a coach, and he has to hire retreads like Bobo, and guy who trotted a girl out in a game, to do a kickoff. The next guy will have an even harder job to do, with the way the Harsin thing was handled. Negative recruiting is going to be at an all time high, along with top assistants taking jobs at places who pay less, but have a better reputation for job security.

While that may be be so, Harsin still has to go. Quit complicating things. Can we at least get to hiring folks before you start fretting about it?

Remember the Duke rape case? A CRIMINAL accusation was reported by an alleged victim. The police were REQUIRED to investigate, but as we all know now, that accusation should have been squashed very quickly. Instead, the DA dug his heels in and drug it out for a very long time, the school administration made disastrous decisions regarding the entire lacrosse team, the players accused, and the their coach. Our investigation should have went like this: "Hey coach, are you having and affair with your subordinate? No? Ok. Hey subordinate, are you having an affair with your boss? No? Ok. Hey accuser, do you have any evidence? No? Ok. Investigation over."

If you were bright, you'd understand that this discussion is not about Harsin's ability to lead a football team. It is about how hard it's going to be to hire someone good, because of how our leadership at the top, seems to enjoy throwing gasoline on the fire.
It's rich that you have found a new term, "Harsin Stan". Especially considering that you are now on your 3rd pair of "Coach Prime" kneepads.

I don’t think he notices that most Auburn fans don’t care to fearmonger doom and gloom for the next twenty years. People have already been complaining about the PTB the last couple decades. It’s a generational hobby.

She obviously hasn't been an Auburn fan long. We have always had high highs and painful lows. It's a cycle, always has been. Sooner we get rid of Harsin the better, less collateral damage for the next guy to fix and get us turned around.

THIS IS 100% CORRECT. Harsin will be a better coach and person because of that. It's most likely just to late for him at Auburn. This is NOT saying that he was a bad person. He just seems to be more personal since.

He has the team playing hard for him so the players believe. Problem is he keeps making boneheaded decisions and he has failed to bring in enough talent to help in the key positions. I feel bad for our d-line. They need a break

Agreed. It’s my understanding the investigation focused on the university’s liability considering the source of both stories was BOT members. There was not an investigation of affairs nor rumors started by former players and coaches. Quality time with legal council sorting through the bullshite. …but what do I know.

Do you have a source within the school who told you this? I've never seen that. From what I understand, the investigation was in regards to the turmoil in the program based on:

I'm a torn on the rumors of inappropriate relations. I guess the school could have released a statement saying that's not what the investigation was about but that feels odd also. "the investigation is not based on internet rumors of Harsin having an inappropriate sexual relationship"
