Gus gave Boobee plenty of chances.

And I have to ask again. How do you know this happened.

I never saw you ask anything. I know because I’m the one who shared this long arse post. So, what’s your deal man.

quote:

Tyrone Truesdell continues to work with first string defense at the vacant DT spot. He’s done well this camp. Coe could line up there some.

Boobie is practicing like he knows he’s first string and coaches are trying to push him They had Harold Joiner at first string yesterday. (IMO it’s incredibly hot out there, and business decisions are being made so nbd, but had a similar report in spring practice where Tega told him him to stop being lazy.)

Brandon continues to feel good about his prediction of Nix being named the starter.

Hastings returned to run routes and some position drills, but Stove remains out.

Farrar has been talked up by Noah, but there are some reports that his hands have been inconsistent in fall camp. Has yet to break out.

Frosh OL Justin Osborne continues to impress and could play this season as a backup at right guard. Jalil Irvin is also playing well.

Brodarious Hamm seems to be solidifying his spot as primary backup behind Jack Driscoll.

Aaryn Siposs has been incredibly accurate in ball placement throughout camp.

Injuries: In my own words....I counted up 13 (6 true freshmen plus others that are backups that don’t seem to be working their way up any time soon.) Coynis still has an injured shoulder,, and I don’t know the status there.

Practice today will be at 3pm.

Tomorrow: second scrimmage

Thursday: Off

Then three straight practices concluded by a session in Jordan Hare to end fall camp. Fall semester begins Monday.

From a spring practice article:
quote:

During one of Auburn’s scrimmages this spring, Whitlow knows he didn’t live up to those expectations. He had 10 “loafs” — low-effort plays — and got chewed out by left tackle Prince Tega Wanogho.

LINK

I admit I got the Prince Tega chewing wrong in that it was the spring, not fall camp, but as you can see, it was reported that coaches didn’t like his effort, again, during fall camp.

And just in case you want information directly from 247:
quote:

WAKE UP, WHITLOW
JaTarvious "Boobee" Whitlow knows he's the starting running back, and that has become a bit of a problem. His effort hasn't been the best of late, an insider said, and that led coaches to demoting him to the second team Tuesday.

"He needs to be pushed a little bit," an insider said.

Harold Joiner and DJ Williams, a freshman, received more reps in practice Tuesday with Whitlow's role diminished.

Whitlow rushed for 786 yards and battled shoulder pain in the latter half of his redshirt freshman season in 2018. Several people close to the team believe rushing for 1,300 yards or so is the expectation for Whitlow this fall, but of late he's not performing at a high level because he believes he has the starting job wrapped up. Coaches want to send a message that no job is safe.

Boobie was a descent back. Don't think he will be missed at all next season. DJ Williams will be just fine to carry the load. To say DJ has vision problems is premature he looked pretty damn good in the small sample size we saw. Also Tank will be really good from the get go. Freshman RB's this day and age don't need time to develop, they can start day 1. Also MAR who was highly rated. We will be set at RB for the next couple years baring any more attrition.

I’m glad fumbling Boobie is gone, he never was and never will be anything more than a below average D1 running back. If he was any good he would have been gone to the NFL draft this year anyway, bye Felicia!!!!

I hope he becomes the best back we ever had but I disagree with you. He made two good runs this year in one game. Other than that, he bulldozed his way into the back of the offensive line and basically every carry. I loved the big runs against LSU but he had plenty more opportunities and really did nothing the rest of the year.

He was being pulled on passing downs and got replaced with Malik Miller. That was bad.

I would not look for many freshmen Running Backs to come into our program and start from day 1 as a freshman. Gus requires a lot from his #1 back and he typically has one. It will probably be DJ next year since Whitlow is gone. I hope he excels.

It is far from a given that DJ is going to be the guy next year. I was as pumped as anyone to see him get more carries during the year, and thought he would take over the rest of the year after the LSU game. But Boobie was the better back against UGA, Bama, and Minnesota. Against Ole Miss DJ ran it over 20 times for less than 4 yards per carry.

DJ was a freshman and injured part of last year, so I’m not writing him off. But he did look much more like a back that will get 5 yards up the middle, than one that will break off many big runs.

Tank is the best back we have signed in a long time, so you can’t compare him to other backs that couldn’t contribute as a freshman. Dyer was able to contribute his first year, Kerryon didn’t. I’m hopeful that without a proven veteran in front of him he will be given a chance.

Wasn't there a rumor running around that him and/or mama was unhappy and running their mouths about leaving?

If so good riddance and best of luck elsewhere. The less of that kind of look-at-me the better for the team. Sounded like he might be unhappy and wanted a bigger role. And he really doesn't have the arse to be a every down blocking back in a Gus offensive scheme.

So (IMO) if he's content to get his two or three chances then good; otherwise it's been nice knowing you.

I see Jang and I are also apart of the Boobee conversation over there. What a group of loser admins. Liars and only want posters that agree with their nonsense. And for those that post on both boards me being banded had nothing to do with WDEWDE and my issues. I was never warned period. Why I got banned is because I challenged Titan on his post about a reporter trying to stir up clicks about Gus being replaced after last years season. I had insider information that was he was false and called him out on stirring the rumor. We pissed back and forth a few post then the next day he kept posing after every post I made so I said back off my jock that I wasn’t entertained by his by his behavior as a mod... bam banned forever without even a comment from anyone. Jang and E both saw it all go down. Jang will back me on that and E will play dumb. Anyway wish Boobee the best where ever but think we will be fine with who we have on he roster now. And bird can suck a pile of dicks to ever think I invited that pile of shite to thanksgiving at my house one year. And since I will never be back in that board just so you know there is a secret members only part where the discuss all the uninvited posters and some good info in there but being in the fambly doesn’t really mean you are.

Holy shite she’s annoying. I do like how they tiptoe around her and treat her son like he’s no Jackson without the opportunity to prove it.
