We either need to get better or everyone else needs to get worse.

Several teams appear to be doing this for us.

I see a lot of people saying pretty ridiculous things like hoping the team gets blown out etc.

But honestly, the D will keep us in most games. Look at what Clemson did to Louisville this weekend.

Look at the points our D has given up, honestly most came from offensive errors placing the defense in terrible spots.

We get Miss State at home after Mizzou. Then Ole Miss at home. Hopefully that gives the time to actually fix something on offense.

I see us getting at least 8-9 by our defense alone. Everyone seems to think the SEC / SECW quality is 2013 good. This is the worst we've been in over a decade

LaMonroe- Win
TAMU - Win
Ole Miss- Win
Mizz- Win
Arkansas - Win

LSU- Toss Up
MSU- Toss Up

UGA- Loss
Bama- Loss

I really believe if it wasn't for offensive struggles we'd have given up 0 to GSU, 7 to Clemson and at most 7 to Mercer, possibly 0 to them. Clemson's offense torched Louisville in all phases and we shut them down almost completely with an exhausted defense.

I'm a glass 3/4 full guy right now. Stidham looks like he's slowly getting comfortable again and a bad defense like Mizzou is perfect to keep his confidence growing. I know it was only Mercer, but we haven't had a QB throw beautiful balls like he did in a long time. Tight spirals and deadly accurate. If the Oline can improve and give time and play calling puts him in good spots then he's going to be great for us.

Would you say he was painting pictures with his balls?

Stidham is getting better. Now, we just need to run someone else other then Pettway. We cant frick him up so early in the season by having him carry so much. Also, hopefully the line gets better.

So basically 14-1

That is as brutal as it gets in the college game.

I honestly think we beat UGA but on paper you got to put a L

If they handle MSU easily, maybe I change my mind. Just dont believe their D has truly been tested and the O has been very limuted

Basically my feelings.

I think we get a lot better on offense and if D can avoid injuries we should be very good by end of the year

The O improvement I mean we go from Dumpster fire to passable

If we split the tossups and don't upset either UGa or Bama, we have to sweep the others just to finish with as good a record as we had last year.

This is what passes for optimism now?

Honestly, I think we end up with 9-10 regular season wins. I think worst case we end regular season 8-4. I think we will improve much more than teams on our schedule but that is a gut feeling I try to leaveout of projections

Given our start though, hard to say we are going to do better than 8-4 given how things are though

It all depends on how well the O improves over the rest of the season. I think we can win every game on the schedule. I also think we can lose most of the ones left on our schedule.

We are like Schrodinger's cat.

A 6-6 season could definitely happen. Go back and watch the 12 sacks against Clemson for a dose of reality.

Agreed.

The sudden surge of optimism is concerning.

Did you all somehow miss Stidham holding onto the ball for way too long yesterday? The five turnovers and complete lack of urgency on our offense?

I see MSU, UGA, and Alabama as losses. I can't see A&M, LSU, or Ole Miss laying down easy. Even Arkansas always puts together some impressive games every year.

We're dangerously close to a losing season if we don't fix a lot of major problems on offense.
