Indeed. Definitely takes me back to the harsin years. With that being said even he had a better record than ole bucky. Sheesh rough times

This. Coaching transitions are so much easier now since you are able to plug holes so quickly. I would not worry about this high school class much at all to be honest. I think that we should expect him to be able to grab some solid players by February, and if he does not that would be concerning, but this class was never going to be as good as it would have had we kept Hugh or promoted Durkin.

Golesh has a proven track record of being both a high level recruiter and being able to do it in the south. Harsin had neither of those on his resume so if anyone is already comparing them it’s a bit silly.

Its only 2 players lol. A 3* TE is fine. TE is similar to OL in that its harder to project how they will develop. If he's got good traits then its just about developing him. And the 3* QB.. I mean we have to have some depth too. You're not going to find a top recruit who is fine to sit on the bench and be depth. Falzone isn't any better of a prospect imo.

Falzone sucks and there’s a reason we were seemingly the only school recruiting him as a QB. He could end up being great but he’s a major project.

Didn’t he commit without even visiting?

Seems like we just threw a bag at someone who penn state moved on from and he committed.

Dude chill. Harsin had no clue what he was stepping into in the SEC. Golesh has recruited for a major SEC program-he is well aware of what it takes.
He’s been here one freaking day, you can’t expect him to start pulling 5* he has never spoken to. This class is what it is-it’s what happens when you fire the coach and it’s not like Freeze was killing it anyways.

I hope I’m wrong but I’m worried about recruiting under golesh. I’m liking what he’s selling as of today but I’m worried he’s not recruiting the way the sec needs him to. Time will tell but that’s my biggest worry. I know he out recruited sumrall before someone says it but he also got waxed by Tulane with a better class.

It’s not about the last 24hours. It’s about what he’s been used to vs what this will take. I’m glad he coached at Tennessee several years ago. Hope that translates to being good here.

Glad we were able to beat out powerhouses like Alabama St, Arkansas St, and Austin Peay for his services

Right? Surely he will be better than Preston Howard.

We will likely be hitting the portal hard for this class anyway. That was the plan even before the coaching change.

Yes that is what that means actually. It’s sorta an indeterminate term. In fact the definition for several is more than two but not many. Glad I could help.

He’s been a recruiting coordinator for Matt Campbell at Iowa State and had the top class in his conference at USF

I think he gets recruiting, but that’s just a guess. We will find out

I think in today’s world, which is quite different from when even Harsin was here, NIL and program resources are most of the recruiting hurdle.

Ferguson mentioned it on his pod but guys like Elko and Heupel weren’t lighting up the recruiting rankings at Duke or UCF. They did OK, but they benefited from being plugged into the right resources. Golesh has that opportunity I think

That very well could be the case here too and I hope it is. I'm just taking the wait and see approach. I've had the be happy about someone before they've proven it on the field taken out of me over the last 8 years.

With his energy I can't see him not being able to recruit and explain his vision to kids and their parents. Money also talks

I think he is just gonna get what he can Wednesday and put all of the focus and energy into retention and the portal. The timing of the hiring and signing day is just terrible.
