Freeze sure didn't manage the last few minutes worth a crap.

Having several plays short of a first down and in the middle of the field sure was a big drain on the clock.

Maybe his excuse will be that Vandy has a better defense than Georgia

Personally, it is a combo of us playing TF and transfers. TF will take a year to really be good, and those transfers are hit or miss. FSU is experiencing a similar issue.

Someone in the press finally asked him the only question that matters in post game. Why in year two are we not improving. Actually worse?

Hugh said well we’re not consistent blah blah blah. That doesn’t answer the question. We are game 9 and defense looked decent, but ST and offense are a sh!t show. That’s Hugh’s side of the ball.

Hell, forget year 2, why are we not improving by game 9 of the season?

I’d say two crucial areas we aren’t improving, QB and OL. OL May be marginally better, but still not near good enough. Thorne has been awful mostly. Defense has mostly been very good. They’ve made some poor plays in clutch times and dumb penalties, but they’ve been getting better and better all year.

Offensively, Thorne and OL is really it. Playcalling has been frustrating at times, but it’s also really hard to call plays when your QB either misses easy throws or just holds the ball. We’ve now seen two different OC’s and play callers struggle with the same things with Thorne at QB. Mixed with a very inconsistent OL, and that’s what we got.

End of the day though, all of that falls squarely on Hugh’s lap. He’s got to answer for it. I don’t know if he is able to.

I've become a passive fan since Freeze was hired. Meaning, I'll support the players out of loyalty, but the university isn't getting a nickel from me until this sh!tstain gets replaced. 7 points. 12 carries for Hunter. A time out at 2:01. An inexplicable FG attempt. A dumbass flea-flicker attempt. This is our offensive guru, folks.

I am all in now. Fire his arse. What’s it gonna do, set the football program back? Hurr durr, the football program is already there. He took a piss poor roster from last year, ADDED TALENT TO IT and is coaching it way worse.

This is it and it can’t be denied. And therefore the discussion needs to be about next year and when we fire him.

I have said for years that Gus should’ve been fired after LSU 2017, but instead we gave him that absurd contract after he beat Alabama and Georgia and we are still feeling the effects of it. Do not hang onto Hugh if the on the field misery continues, he was a very high risk pick, and it’s not paying off.

I want to can his arse when we still have 25% of the regular season and the playoffs to go and get a leg up on finding a new coach.

Go throw a bag at Todd Monken to see if he is interested. Or maybe Eric Bieniemy (UCLA). Other young and up comers: Joe Sloan (LSU), Will Stein (Oregon), Mike Denbrock (Notre Dame)…

I agree. As much as I hate to, I agree. I think Freeze has to be on a short leash next year. Very clear milestones (wins, SEC wins, bowl, etc.) and I'd he doesn't meet those then he is gone.

I swear the more I see of him the more I think he is Auburn's version of Derek Dooley.

Here’s a thought though why would two coaches in a row cash it in and say f auburn? That doesn’t make sense when we pay the money we do and are recruiting at a high level with hugh.

Some truth there.

But Hugh played the coordinator shuffle last year and I'm not sure who'd hire onto sinking vessel.

More slight sarcasm.

Not ready to fire this year because it'd be far cheaper to buy a Arch Manning type than Jimmy Sexton.

If Hugh is fired this year, we will wind up with Bryan Harsin 2.0 because that is the only coach who would take the job. What we need is a new OC.

We need an actual OC with a good reputation everywhere he’s been if we’re going to go down that route. I don’t see that happening.

I’m not sure Hugh’s ego would allow this.
