When Bama hired their washed up has-been coach he couldn’t even stay out of his own way long enough to have a cocktail down in Pensacola

But this isn’t about him or Bama

When washed up has-been Hughey had all that Star Power in Ole Miss all he could muster was a 10 win season out of it.

Oh yeah, choked away the SEC West, I clearly remember

Where is his hardware? Peach Bowl?

I’ve said it and I’ll say it again. The Auburn football program passed away when Pat Dye passed on. He was the go-to consultant on football hires and there is no way on God’s Green Earth he would have backed a Freeze hire because Freeze is just not “man enough.” I’ve never seen a more fragile ego out of a football coach in my 50 years on this planet. At least Harsin was a hard arse.

I’ll hang up and listen

One of the only 10 win seasons in their entire history, but ok.

What in the world?

Definitely don’t want this to be a religious debate but you live in a predominant Christian country and you don’t know about free will.

Way, way, WAY too early to talk about moving on from Freeze.

I am sorry but it isn't. Freeze is on a collision course with one of our worst seasons ever, and it looks like he is powerless to do anything any different. If he doesn't show some ability to run a football team in the rest of this year, he will likely find himself in a very toxic situation and on a very short leash.

If he were an employee working a regular leadership job in a private business, he'd be a hair's breadth away from the unemployment line no matter how screwed up the situation was he inherited.

Nope. He has full support of the PTB. Cohen also can’t let this fail quickly.

Well said!

This is a RESULTS oriented business

He has already shown he can recruit, I will give him that

But it doesn’t matter if:

1) Many of those high stars end up being a bust

2) CHF can’t manage a ballgame to save his life

3) CHF doesn’t have a positive mindset and toughness that rubs off on the players. They take on the personalities of the coaches. Plain & Simple.

And the pressers are getting worse by the week. NOT because of the record, because of his MENTALITY.

The last one he even made it sound like the job is too difficult to manage! Go listen to the excuses. It is flat out comical.

I will never feel sorry for anyone making generational type money screwing up this bad.

You said it...

... it's not a regular job.

Just like it's not a regular salary.

And the price to fix is damn near prohibitive. Patience grasshopper. There's a lot of things to try before trading coaches. It's a lot easier to get a different play caller than coach. And maybe if Hugh's so stressed or spread thin he might want to give away some parts.

But go ahead.... it's keeping the board going.

I have stressed and stressed that he just is not utilizing the talent he has. That is a coaches job. To coach up the kids and utilize their skills. He just has not done that in two years. No we do not have top tier talent but he cant even beat teams that we are more talented than. Which is why I continue to say that more talent will not make him a better coach. Will we win a few more games with better talent? Sure. But the win total will never match the talent with Freeze. If he needs top 5 talent to win 6 games, that should tell you something.

I know we are not moving on from him now but it is going to happen sooner than later. Like Farley stated, losing like he has will eventually muddy the water and no amount of praying, recruiting or crying will save him.

You have to win games. He is not doing that

I am not a huge religion guy but if you believe in one of these things, dont you automatically believe in the second?

Not really wanting a religious discussion but it seems kinda ironic to believe in the supreme being but not Karma

The Bible says you reap what you sow. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that will happen during your days on earth, which is what karma means, that it’s going to happen to you in this life.

I was the next door neighbor to Mike Gilotti in Lake Cyrus (Hoover) when he was gunned down outside his front door by Bessemer thugs. Mike was very devout and his wife Heather told us his last words were God please forgive me for my sins. That really broke me which made me move away that Fall itself though we had friends up and down the street.

Sorry to Corch for railing on his post, but yeah first Sandy Hook and then Mike getting murdered really affected me and I have completely stayed away from religion. We still gather food from around town and provide it to really struggling churches in Birmingham downtown, Bessemer, Fairfield etc. as a way to do some good.

Apples to Oranges comparison

Bruce has credibility

Hughey has zero credibility
