I read on ITAT that he could be out until as late as week 8 or 9. I didn't realize he had shoulder surgery. Where have I been? That sucks, because I really thought he was going to be great right out of the gate. I still think hes going to be a great player

Do you have a link? I haven't seen or heard anything about him being injured?

Had a shoulder “procedure” after spring ball. Gus said it wouldn’t be a major issue. I don’t know.

Yea I remember that but I haven't heard anything about him being out that long. I just went back and read the 247 Preseason Injury report and DJ is not listed.

I just read about DJ on 247 recently and it is true he will miss some games.

D.J. Williams' future

Running back D.J. Williams is missing valuable time as he recovers from shoulder surgery. The freshman is still wearing an orange, non-contact jersey, but coaches have not forgotten about his breakout spring. They love his vision and movement, and once he is healthy, he could be a factor in his first season.

"He's going to be a really good player," an insider said. "His role is going to expand as the season goes on. It might be Week 8 or 9, and then we've got fresh legs suddenly off the bench. It'll be like, 'Where'd he come from?' He may be that dude no one talks about until he's on the field."

Gus is going to play him only a few plays over 5 games and then decide to redshirt him

I’m fair to Gus. I brag about his successes as much as I criticize his failures. You know I haven’t been much of a fan per se for a while now so why we gotta do this again?

This means DJ may have lost his arm.

A shoulder surgery in April shouldn’t mean he’s out until week 8. 3-4 months after labrum tear or rotator cuff and you’re back to 100% with good PT.

Anything beyond that is “major” and could be 6-7 months to recover.

In general, yes. But everyone heals at a different rate. Or he could have aggravated the injury after his surgery

I had shoulder surgery Jan 1 last year. Bicep tendon tear in my shoulder with labrum/rotator trimmed up. I competed in a powerlifting comp by August. I know taking hits in football is different but if he’s out that long he must’ve re-injured the shoulder or it was worse than first believed?

His role will expand as the season progresses. He will play before week 8. If not wait till week 9 and redshirt.

I don’t know why. I’m boring as crap now. Can’t say a lot of things that I want to say. Basically had to sell my soul to the devil thanks to being bored at work while I was banned. But I appreciate Ross rescuing me from the msb and bringing me home.
