Biggest failure of the season. I thought we were on the right path after the Georgia game but has declined since.

I understand it’s a new era and different culture but does anyone here think in 2004 that Carnell, Ronnie, JCam, Rogers any of those dogs are opting out playing VT.

And these frickers are getting paid to be here. I don’t get it and will never understand it. Lost a lot of respect of Simpson yesterday. Dude played the fanbase for 3 weeks. He could go. Got a fricking personal foul not even dressed out. We aren’t talking 1st round draft selections. DJ is what 3rd maybe. Pritchett 4th round, Simp is 4th or 5th, Harris what 4th round.

Being frank they have a higher opinion of their abilities than that demonstrated on the field… NIL contracts are going to cut both ways soon…

He was gonna ‘try” to go for 3 week and has been practicing. Day of the game can’t go.

Dude could go. At least the other guys just straight up said they were opting out. Simp made it like it matter then pussed out

Need to write the bowl game into the NIL contract.

That’s the big problem with NIL collectives. They can’t be pay for play.

That is one of the rule. Can’t be performance based

Instead of performance based why couldn't it be attendance based?

IE: We are not paying you for how well you play (statistically based), we are paying for x number of appearances; because of the way your NIL (name, image, and likeness) positively influences Auburn.

Where it's not linked to or dependent upon how good you've done but merely on attendance. Seems like would be easy and in line with the rulings intended meaning.

Something has to give one way or another. Look at FSU. Ran the tables in the regular season, did not get in so then over 20 players opt out. As a result, UGA curb stomped them.

When bowl games meant something they could be brutal like in the '80's.

After all we're not getting our monies worth. Which is a basic and purely reasonable expectation since we just payed for you to be here.

Not true at all. It was announced like a week ago he wouldn’t play.

You’re an idiot. That’s the same thing.

We can’t pay you to play for Auburn. That’s the rule.

There's a difference in paying someone to be there, as opposed to playing them for playing.

And a smart man (or lawyer) could write it up this way.

One's paying for their image and the other for their playing.

Tie NIL money to performance and Bowl participation unless they are going in first round.

Don’t really give AF if they play in a meaningless bowl game. The bowls that aren’t tied to the playoffs are mostly a money-grab to get tourists into local economies anyway.

The Mizzou team had a great culture this season …. great on-field leadership, and it showed during the Cotton Bowl. In crunch time, the team leaders matter.

I felt bad about the game until I learned that many of the players have the flu. A few played anyway which amazes me. I am recovering from the flu and for a week or so it was all I could do to walk to the bathroom. I couldn't have run with a football if the devil himself had been after me.

If they don’t want to play no sense forcing them even - if you could. I’m not sure how effective they’d be if they don’t want to be there or are playing to avoid injury as their primary goal.

And yet, they are exactly that.

Forget Auburn's culture. College football is going to be a shell of itself in the years to come.
