There is zero reason for Cignetti to leave his current job.

He's in his 60s. If we hire him, we'll likely be looking for a new coach within 5 years.

He was more than available when we hired Freeze. I brought him up then. He was at JMU then & he brought a lot of guys with him from there. His DC has been with him for about 11 years...He runs an RPO. He is a jackass personality but hey...if you win...I really don't care that you are an arse...

I’m tired of RPOs. We need a more pro-style offense

In fairness, history has proven we will be no matter who we hire

I’m at the point I could literally not care less. We’re a disaster and there’s no consistency in sight. Cam down there smiling and laughing w Georgia players after the game. We got a culture problem and we’re about to lose big.

Can we pin this thread to the top until Hew is gone?

Agree 100%. We will have to wait till the end of the season for that so give Durkin a spin now with Cignetti on speed dial.

Edit: Forgot how old Cignetti is. Not so great.

Spin Durkin’s prevent defense arse right out the door with Freeze

To be fair, they run a lot of RPO’s in the NFL now. But, I completely understand your point. I also want a more traditional offense.

I enjoyed Gus’ early years- ‘10 and ‘13. But, it was over after the SEC Defenses adjusted and he didn’t. We haven’t had a good offensive philosophy since then.

This game looked like a game from the Harsin era or a game from the Gus era. 3 and out after 3 and out. Defense playing lights out but gets totally gassed and eventually breaks. No discernible passing game.

Crazy to think Durkin hasn't done an excellent job with what he's been dealt.

If they do pull the trigger on Freeze, does that help us keep our roster together? There is an awful lot of talent there.

Who cares at this point.
The fans are broken

Stadium was dead in third quarter. You could feel that we already lost after the extensive fricking

Definitely! But, a competent coach could inherit this roster and go on a tear. With this much talent, his biggest job would be teaching them how to win. As a football culture, we’ve lost that.

We lost everything that Dye had instilled into the program- passed down from class to class. It was evident in 2014 that it was going.

Now? All we have is a culture that invents new ways to lose and finds excuses. Wonder what Hugh said in his presser?

A new coach will not be inheriting this roster. It will be an exodus
