You’re looking at the ceiling when you should be looking at the floor. Bryant has a way higher floor and neither have a higher floor or ceiling than Nix.

Nix could start as a freshman but he probably shouldn’t. Bryant fits a need and we don’t have to endure a season of Gus patching together backups at QB1

And none of this particularly matters with this OL so knock yourselves out on this hypothetical

We are gonna get Nix killed if he starts as a TF. KB can be our rented mercenary that gets killed for a while.

Where is Gatewood in this conversation? TE?

We need to see Willis run the offense, the whole offense with the 1s.

I don't think he is going to be the next QB that wins us a National Championship or an SEC Championship. I also agree that he isn't the most dynamic dual threat QB, and let's be honest he wasn't good enough to lead his team to a NC last year or beat out a freshman this year.

But with all that being said, I would prefer to have a veteran DT QB next year, who could help us get to 10 wins, and not make Auburn rely on a Freshman QB next year. I would take for him year, and hopefully get Gus some mojo back on offense.

He can win us games by extending plays. It would definitely take pressure off of the offensive line. The play calling would change IMO for the better. He isn’t the runner that NM was but I think he can do more with his arm than NMcould.

I guess, obviously, he won't be able to commit to us unless or until after Stidham declares?

Stidham is not returning whether he goes pro or not.

Willis and Gatewood aren't playing QB at this level. People need to move on from both.

Agree. Nix needs a redshirt so Gus doesn't ruin him. Bryant would do well under Gus.

Fire Gus in 2020.

Leath and Harbert can be tar and feathered for that horrendous Gus contract.

I'm not sure how you can say this given our limited sample size of their playing abilities?

People should understand that Kelly Bryant is nothing more than a bridge to the next (transfer, hopefully) QB. He’s a mediocre passer and nothing like Nick Marshall or Cam Newton when it comes to running the ball.

He severely held back Clemson’s offense like Jalen Hurts did at Alabama.

Of course, him coming to Auburn is better than the alternative...which is Malik Willis starting.

That would be fantastic and I personally don’t think it’s as far fetched as some claim.

I have absolutely no insider information, but the guy is obviously in a lose-lose situation at Georgia right now.

No shite. We're trying to figure out way out of Leath and Harbert contract. Sign Kelly and get another 7 wins next year. Jesus Christ we have a baseball player next year as our QB.
