Chuck is phoning in to the TNT Inside the NBA special, saying he’s not feeling well. Said he has been tested for COVID-19 and the flu. Described the testing (swab). Hope he’s not affected by this dreaded virus. Say some prayers for our best AU B-ball ambassador.

He wont die. He will have the flu. Covid19 is not a death sentence unless you're old and a couple of nails have already been driven in your coffin.

Don't have a chart handy, but the mortality rate starts rising after the 50-59 year cohort.
50-59: 1.3%
60-69: 3.6%
70-79: 8.0%
80+: 14.8%

Yep. You can be a 21 year old diabetic and be in just as much danger as an 81 year old.

Because saying it isn’t true without any additional context is a little dishonest

BS. That isn't some secret. It's been talked about ad nauseam.

The way you say it’s flat out not true makes it sound like it’s not an old person disease but it is. Numbers show it.

People with underlying health issues before catching having additional complications from it is a given. But the fact is for the majority of the population, it’s a bad cold that can be taken care of by your own body.

Spoken like a child who doesn't view the world as a village; but a place to return to after a late night out on the roam.

All factual.

I don’t know why we try to lie about the situation to the entire population. We try to act like it’s not an old person disease to get younger people to stay inside so they won’t spread it to the older people. Even though everyone can see the numbers. Why don’t we just be straight up? The younger you are, the lower the risk. You can still spread it to somebody that it’s potentially deadly to though.

That's exactly what everyone is saying.

FYI, viruses mutate as well. It can get worse. The unknowns are the biggest problem.

Not sure your argument?

. . . or that we're in disagreement? Maybe it'll make sense when I get home. Some of us mid 60's folk still have a job to rush out to, are not in lock down, nor hopefully are in head in the sand mode.

I think that has been well established, although not the focal point of the dialogue anymore

I mean I’m in my upper 20s with no health issues, so this virus doesn’t scare me really even a little if I contract it. I do fear for my parents though if they were to contract it.

What did he mean by this then?

All I did was state the fact that it kills old people not young people and that’s “speaking like a child”
