Another thing that teams have figured out. Just be physical with Broome. He’s gonna dominate the 6’8” bigs. Lengthy bigs he’s gonna struggle with if they can play defense at all.
I love Broome’s game but when they are playing physical with him he just needs to go through their chest. Setup a little deeper in the post and go up and into them. They will call the foul on the defender. Yes his shot will get blocked some but getting their bigs in foul trouble will go a long way.

I agree with this. Broome is a great finesse big. He can dominate shorter guys and is quicker than a lot of bigs. But he struggles with super physical bugs because he never tries to just play through the body and get to the line. The way they were calling the game tonight, he could have lived at the free throw line, but he would rather settle when he is getting physicald down low.

Broome has moments of dog in him but he's largely soft for a guy with his size and experience

I think that shoulder tweak early on got in his head.

A&M is not bad.
Get some rest.
Play better Saturday.
Pegues must have just given up the season. How did we whiff so bad on him?

Just be physical with Broome.
But JB is a limping, flat footed, shell of what he was earlier in the year, and is more of a decoy than MVP this second half of the season.

Broome has always been finesse:
Just a bad matchup.
Dylan and Chaney are in the doghouse too. They need to rebound.

Broome has barely moved his feet to grab rebounds lately. Think he’s either been told not to go for rebounds because of his ankle or it’s mental

This team can definitively get knocked off its game if the other team ever gets out to a 10ish point lead.
Usually we don't get in that spot, but sometimes teams will just have shot fall early like last night. Team needs to get better at not letting that affect them when its early. No need to start forcing things down 10ish 5 mins into the game.
Can't let Bama hit shots early.

Last night was by far the worst we have played all year.
However just a reminder of how quickly the season can end in a tournament setting.

I’m mentally conceding starting game threads the rest of the season!
I jinxed it! Felt good enough about starting it, thinking the team would want to annihilate the Q1 wins.
A&M had more offensive rebounds than we did total last night.

Some smart guy said this prior to the game. Played out as expected

Rebounding and Foul shots total should tell the story. We get out rebounded by 10 and shoot 15 less FT then aTm could be difficult to overcome.

We are now 15-3 in Q1 games. Miss State fell out of the top 30. They are at 32.
No clue how but Duke jumped us in NET rankings. That is huge

It won’t matter if Broome continues to play like he has the last 2 games we will be one and done at SEC and out of NCAA in 2nd round.

My question is just how many teams can line up like Florida and Kentucky and take away Broome's advantage immediately. Once Broome loses his offensive arsenal his impact along with Chaney's and Dylan's are mediocre. We have lot of data against tournament teams though so its clear only a few teams match up well against us to this point.
Of course there could be a smaller school that matches up decent and when they are playing with nothing to lose the rankings go out the door. I am even more confident we beat Bama now though. If we were sleeping in silk sheets before that game we just may have taken an L

Last night was an effort and no Denver issue. We were sleep walking the first 10 minutes. In the second half they just got Pettiford in isolation on defense. He’s ok defensively for short periods of time but last night he was as getting blown by way to easily in the 2nd half

Because they have incredible efficiency. Doesn’t really matter in terms of NCAA T seeding though. The committee only uses NET as indexing for good wins and losses
